i was given this med because allergic to penacillan in emerg ward. told dr i thought a stone in very swollen front left saliva duct she said NO it was a tooth abcess problem i took meds 3 days and no better as ears eyes all my teeth aching both good filled and one cap had come off and felt horrible so i got a needle and tweezer sterilized and made a little hole in gland where it bulged up and ... THIS DR DID NOT LISTEN TO ME she hardly even looked at it i was allergic to the med and broke out in a bad rash and took reactin for 3 nights and now all seems fine a little sore in throat gland reaction bump ... but getting better every day this cephalixin may be good for some but not me. I even questione husain dr about this presc when she handed it to me as i had never heard of this medication as alergeric reaction can be bad i know that from previous experiences. hope this helps

I began this medication on Tuesday night, after bladder surgery. Wednesday the headachey feeling began, and by nighttime I had severe migraine with piercing pain in my eyes. By morning it subsided. I still had residual headache, but took it a few more times, and now the migraine is back. I am done with this one. Will call doc in AM to prescribe something else.

This antibiotic was remarkable for the infection in my gums. I was severe pain, was unable to get tooth pulled because I couldn't get numb from infection. Dentist's give me severe anxiety so dentist thought it was best to go under general anesthesia and get tooth pulled that way because they may have to cut my jaw bone to pull roots out. Scary! This antibiotic was remarkable for the infection in my gums. I was severe pain, was unable to get tooth pulled because I couldn't get numb from infection. Dentist's give me severe anxiety so dentist thought it was best to go under general anesthesia and get tooth pulled that way because they may have to cut my jaw bone to pull roots out. Scary! So I'd rather be asleep. I had to wait 5 days until surgery and pain was so bad I was crying & unable to sleep. I have Cephalexin (Keflex) in cabinet, it was only 1 month old. I read online it is prescribed for tooth infections. So I took a 500mg dose that night. Woke up next morning and took another 500mg dose, and by the evening I was pain free. The only bad thing is is causes me to have severe anxiety 15 minutes after I dose and lasts two hours then subsides. Racing heart rate, tightness of chest. BUT I am sensitive to meds and have anxiety but its like clockwork, it happens right after I dose. I read this happens to others alot with this med so I am only going to take one more dose because I have surgery in 4 days to get tooth pulled so hopefully the pain wont come back before surgery. Also- if you are feeling weird side effects, just cut dose down, instead of taking 2 per day, just take one. Just let you doctor know before you change your dose. Hope this helps someone out.

I took ony 2 pills, 500 mg each for an eye infection, sty. I took 2 pills about 7 hrs apart. I had very dry mouth at night and I had nausea and an extremely bad pounding headache that I have never experienced before. I stopped taking this med. It was horrible. I am only taking the antibiotic drops for the eye.

I was prescribed cephalexin 500mg 4 times a day for a severe and potenially serious infection of a blocked tear duct. As I am allergic to amoxycillin, I was prescrbed an epipen along with this medicine, just in case. As I am allergic to amoxycillin, I was prescrbed an epipen along with this medicine, just in case. I was relieved that I had no immediate severe allegic reaction and was even more relieved when the eye infection began to improve dramatically. However, after a few days, I began to really suffer with uncomfortable and perplexing symptoms -- which worsened each day. I felt uncomfortable, restless, and agitated. Nights were the worst. When I did get to sleep, I would awake drenched in sweat and with my fact red-hot and flushed and a severe headache. I also had vivid nightmares. Then I developed pounding in my chest and ears, as if I could hear as well as feel my heart beat. Then I experienced pain in my chest shortly after taking the medication. I was very motivated to finish the prescription because of the severity of my eye infection -- but I HAD to give it up one day early. This medication worked well clearing up the infection -- but I suffered a great deal from the strange, extremely uncomfortable, and scary side effects.
