Depo works! it does exactly what i wanted it to at age 18, stop my period and keep me from getting pregnant. about 5 yrs ago, after being depressed for at least 6 months, i decided not to go back on it. i have had nothing but trouble since. first, i started missing my period for months on end. it would be almost 6 months before i would have a period. this makes it really hard when you are thi ... I had a completely different experience with this drug then the rest of the reviews...i absolutely loved it...i had no weight gain what so ever...no periods...no joint pain or hair loss...its absolutely perfect for me!

I had the shot 10 years ago and it worked fine for me, no periords, no weight gain and no babies. I was on the shot for about 2 years then. Since then I was on and off birth control. I recently decided to get the shot again. I got the shot on July 1, 2008 and I didn't have a period or any spotting until July 31, 2008. I've been on the shot for over 4 years. I just had my second bone scan done and I am borderline for bone loss. I haven't had a period in 4 years and I love it. I gained over 100 pounds being on it over the course of that time. However, I also went through a nasty depression stage where I did nothing but drink soda. So I blame some of my weight gain on that. I am 41 years old and I have 3 children and do not plan to have anymore.....After the birth of my daughter in 97, everything started going down hill and has not stopped. I had a (tubal-ligation) in 01 and regret that even worse. More problems than reliefs.
