I was giving this medication to prevent infection from having a tooth extracted. A took it with food and with Activa. A week after the treatment was done I experienced extreme pain and cramping and had a lot of mucus coming out. I did not know that these were side effects because the dentist only warned me about diarrhea. Which I didn't have only softer stools. It wasn't until I was pres ... Show Full Comment

I was prescribed this drug for an infection related to a branchial cyst. I took it as directed - 300 mg. every 6 hours. I'm generally a very positive, upbeat person and I've never felt such despair. After spending the day crying on the phone to various fri ... Show Full Comment

I am not a person that is prone to UTIs. I'd had 1 in my entire life before that one. It did not stop the ... Show Full Comment

I am four days into a taking it to prevent infection after a complicated tooth extraction. Things are going okay so far. I am a nurse, and as I read these reviews I am concerned that so many people simply choose to stop the drug without consulting with the prescriber. One of the most serious problems we have in health care now is that of drug resistant bacteria. Not all antibiotics kill all bacter ... Show Full Comment
