I was first introduced this medication when I was a young age for sinus infections. It works great for me. I do recommend that you only use as directed because if you use it longer than 3 days then your symptoms may reoccur and worse.

Afrin is cheap and effective. I've used it nightly (left-side only) for over 40 years. It keeps my nose open and allows very comfortable nose-breathing all night. In the morning and through the day, when I'm up and around, my nose stays open very well. The drug has never lost potency or evidently harmed me (BP is fine) or my nasal passages. I have alot of sinus problems and i get to where i can not breathe thur my nose..This works wonders where sudafed does not. But be careful, I have found i need to use it more than 3 days as recommend and its hard to stop using it and i have alot of sneezing when i use it.

Afrin keeps me up all night! My mother noticed that my left pupil started varying sizes rapidly and my vision was a little blurry. I'm sure I didn't spray my eye. And I am not taking any other drug. These effects eventually wore off.
