Chronic pain this medicine is uded for opiod tolerate patients, 20mg-30mg 1xor 2x a day and Opans IR 5, or 10 mg will keep pain at bay however with pain management I have found that every 6 mos a patients meds should be changed for efficacy, i.e. M.S. Contin 30-60 mg 2x a day and 30mg I.R. P.R.N.: and then Roxicodone 30 mg 3x a day and so on This keeps tolerance down, instead of leaving patie ... Show Full Comment

I have been prescribed OpanaER 40mg for chronic back pain following a failed back surgery. I to agree that the new formulated pill is not as effective, however, my doctor also prescribes me Oxycodone as well. The combination of the two pain medications, along with Neurontin I am able to get through a 6 hour day at work. There is no perfect world for pain but you must have a personal physician that ... Comment:
I have severe pain in my back and legs due to a partially entrapped nerve around L-5. Opana is the only drug i've tried that I can take enough of and get relief without it messing with my head.
