I used to get the worse debilitating migraines with aura. Nothing helped. I would sit in agony, sometimes for days on end. Topomax changed that. I take between 100mg now and if you can stomach a month of intense side effects and then gradual mild ones, this could give you your life back. I tried everything from homeopathic remedies, toradol shots, imitrex, maxalt etc and this is the only thing tha ... Show Full Comment

I get daily migraines. Topamax has saved my life but its side affects are hard to live with. The hardest one's I get are hair loss and feelings of sadness. But if you suffer bad migraines like I do it really is a life saver:)

I have used Topomax on and off for many years. I have gone off of it in the past because of the side effects I experienced, loss of memory, developed kidney stones, and dizziness were the worst, but this past year my migraines have been so bad that I have returned to the topomax and I don't care about any side effects anymore. I have never experienced migraines like these before!!! It's ... Show Full Comment

Daily migraines. I had tried many other medications and nothing else worked. We started my dose at 25mg a day and gradually increased it to 100mg. a day and that is where I have been for several months. I take Tramadol 2-3 times a week if I feel a headache coming on and it will relieve my headache. This medicine has given me my life back. Side effects have been only tingling in finger tips at ... Comment:
After taking Topamax for the first time, it made me feel extremely strange. I got a tingly feeling in my entire head, it gave me a headache, and my whole body felt extremely fatigued. I felt more spaced out than usual, too. It was terrible so I called my doctor that day. He said "You need to try to push through the side effects, they'll subside after a few days." Well, let me tell yo ... Show Full Comment
