    My initial experience was not a good one - I am apparently very sensitive to Topamax - experienced the negative mood changes (luckily, I was aware of the potential side effects) lost 20 pounds in about a month and a half (I don't miss the weight,) numbness in hands, wierd burning sensation in ankles (I think that's a new one) - all on only 100mg/day.)     I am currently taking 300mg of topmax for migrane prevention it worked great the first few months i was on it then i was having daiky headaches. doc said to keep up the dodage until i can no longer take the side effects which will be soon. the weight loss is great but i am getting all the above mentioned as well asd ringing in my ears now. not sure how long i will stay on it. my inuranve cover ...     Topamax has been a very big help for me in keeping my headachs away! But they are very EXPENSIVE!!! When and why aren't they in genaric form??? I was put on them about 4-5 years ago. They should be in genaric by now!!!
