If you can bear with the side effects for the first two months, it is so worth it. I have gone from daily headaches and dehibiltating migraines twice a month to 1-2 migraines this past year, and they are manageable with relpax...no more trips to the doc to get a shot and a dose of narcotics!! As far as side effects, had the tingling of the hands, then someone told me to take a multi-vitamin and t ... Show Full Comment

I like the fact that the topamax has stopped my headache. I just don't like the fact that the way things taste are now different and I also have a problem sleeping now. On the positive outlook I am losing weight and getting more done throughout the day.

Prior to taking topamax I had tried 14 different medications that ALL failed over the course of grueling migraines for 2 years. Topamax is the only thing that has worked for me. And a pleasent side effect is you can lose a few pounds too!

I am in the process of calling my doctor to see if I should stop treatment. I am currently on only 50 mg. 100 mg was to strong of a dose at first and caused me to have heart palpatations. Now, my vision is changing and I do have more "ditzier" moments than usual. I have been on this medication for about 21/2 months now.
