been on topamax for 5 years. has been very effetive in reducing migranes for me. some side effects, but it is worth it.

I started Topamax for migraines. After of being on the drug for 10 days, I lost my eye sight for 3 days.(a side effect listed in the small print) After MRI's and spinal tap to rule anything else out, I took massive dosages of steroids to reduce the pressure in my eyes, and my eyesight did return with no residual side effects (possible glucoma) of the medication. This med was great for my migranes but caused so many other side effects that I couldn't stand it.Fingers and toes achingly numb just wanted to cut them off.Face was sooo tingley that I felt like others could see me shaking and actually I did shake.It also made me out of breath.Very hard to take!!!

What a nightmare!!!My migraines were not helped,I became confused, had difficulty concentrating,numbness and tingling in arms and feet,word finding problems, difficulty constructing complete sentences,and so on. I have a masters degree, and at one point could not even come up with the proper denomination of change to pay for a $2.14 item! I've been alternating between extreme anxiety and unco ...
