This pill has made my face and neck break out horribly. My doctor put me on it to help clear up hormonal acne and it didnt do anything for it. I have gone to the dermatologist and they labeled it as hormonal cysts. The acne swells up and it's just gross.

I gave this pill a 5 for effectiveness as it was very effective at what it was supposed to do, prevent pregnancy, its the side effects that are the killer. I didn't put on any weight or have changes in my skin, the problem was my lack of energy. by 10:30 every night (which was when I would take the pill) I was exhausted and could barely hold my head up. I started taking this pill because I was previously on Lutera which caused me to have heavy acne. I've always had acne on my forehead and back, but never on my chin and neck. After I started Femcon my acne on my forehead cleared up but I started having cystic acne on my chin and neck! Not only that, my hair started thinning and falling out!!! I'm so scared. I've found out that this is due to EXCESS ANDROGEN. So now I need to find a birthcontrol pill that is low in androgens so I can save the little bit of hair I have left. I feel like crying right now. PS, I've been taking Femcon for over a year now and I always thought my hair was shedding the regular amount but it was shedding excessively.

I absolutely LOVE this pill! I've been on it for about 4 years now and it was the first birth control I have tried. Of course at the beginning you get a slightly longer period but once that is done everything is fine. It made my periods lighter and less painful and I only bled for about 3 days instead of my usual 5. The only problem I do have though, is my hair started falling out a lot. I didn't ... I absolutely LOVE this pill! I've been on it for about 4 years now and it was the first birth control I have tried. Of course at the beginning you get a slightly longer period but once that is done everything is fine. It made my periods lighter and less painful and I only bled for about 3 days instead of my usual 5. The only problem I do have though, is my hair started falling out a lot. I didn't see it as much of a big deal at first but now it's starting to bother me. Other than that, no problems with sex drive or moodiness, nothing. I'm thinking about switching just because of the hair loss thing but I might be able to stick it out.
