Love this pill - so much better than the the usual "drying-up" treatments because you get RID of the mucous effectively and therefore cough less and feel less congested. But I tend to have a bit of diarrhoea with it and wonder if this is a common side effect(?).

I took the pill and it sent me to the bathroom four times in a hour . Which I think is a good thing. People think that going to the bathroom to relieve themselves is bad . the medicine sent my cold out through my waste . Vicks Nature Fusion and Robitussin peak cold could not get the job done . Mucinex fast-Max has 400mg guaifenesin for cough suppressant and vicks and Robitussin peak cold only has 200 mg per dose

Since taking Mucinex- It cleared my mucus, but has made me feel worse. I have had a persistent headache, ear ache, and I feel nauseas. I will not be taking any more of this drug. I will stick to my Nettie Pot thank you!!

My cold congestion, coupled with asthma, was making it really difficult to breathe. The pharmacist recomended I take the 1200 mg pill once a day during the day time, and NyQuil during night, and after only one day I had a much more productive cough. It really helped clear the chest congestion, the only problem I had - which is brought up in previous reviews - was that it caused mild diarrhea. I couldn't tell if it was due to the pill, or if it was a result of digestive sensitivity caused by the pill combined with the type of food I was eating (with spices/salt).Read More Read Less

I took only one tablet of the regular Mucinex 600mg which my specialist recommended to get rid of my phlegm. Unfortunately, it did not do anything for me. Instead, it raised my blood preasure, gave me a headache, and itchy body. I'm also disappointed that the packaging does not give you much information on side effects and to top it off...it's pricey. :( Please let me know if anyone has a home remedy to get rid of phlegm.
