I started with Lantus solostar with 70 units morning and Evening. It was not controlling the onset of Diabetes since I was allergic to Metformin (since it contained Sulfa) They added Humalog Kwikpen for Rapid during meals all it did was to add more weight to my body and more trouble with not able to control. Comment:
Very little effect on B/S readings. Amylin Pharm only supplies to Pharmacies in boxes of 2 pens. Pharmacies won't break a box/dispense required 3 pens as ordered by pt's Dr.,so pt must do without or pay full exhorbitant cost (almost $300) for the add. required meds per month. One of the side effects is upset stomach, not easy to take when at work or out of the house for the day.

I thought I would lose some weight with adding this medicine. However, I have not seen that much of a change.
