This pen is just toooooo expensive. How do you expect people to pay 300.00 per month for this pen. I did , however, I will not pay this price again. I will have to find another medication. Sorry.

I have been using the symlin pen for years however, the past 12 months I have had 6 pens jam up leaving 1/3 insulin I cannot access and I changed the pen needles many times without success. I stopped throwing them away and I now have 3 jammed pens with experation dates of May/June 2023. My pharmacy (Wagreens) will not replace the non working pens therefore I am short on my insulin.

My overall health has improved greatly. My self esteem has soared. I have lost weight. Blood sugars have been on target not all over the place. I am a participant in life.

I have been on this for just a week, and haven't seen any results. No weight loss and my sugars are the same. I have had no side effects which is good. Will keep taking it maybe it will kick in and I will lose some weight which the doctor wanted.

Love the Symlin medication. HATE THE PEN DELIVERY SYSTEM WE ARE FORCED TO UTILIZE IN ORDER TO CONTINUE TO USE SYMLIN. Bring back the Symlin vial.... PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE REVIEW. I am one of the original members of the DCCT(Diabetes Control and Complications Trial), as well as one of the original members of the on-going EDIC Study. I am one of the original test participants / patients to utilize Symlin as part of my diabetes managements. Symlin was originally given by injection from a vial and my results were fantastic, great, dependable and predicable. I originally lost 45 pounds and enjoyed a fantastic increase in my blood sugar control as a result of using Symlin injected from a vial. I was very pleased. However, then came the Corporate decision to cease producing Symlin in vial form and go to a inject-able pen delivery system and change/modify the Symlin strength/dosage concentration. In my opinion, as well as other patients and doctors, it is the biggest mistake that could have been made. A decision that as far as we can tell was made with little or no input from doctors or patients involved in the daily use of Symlin as part of Diabetes management. I find the current pen delivery system inconsistent, not dependable and difficult to use. Effectiveness rating was 5, now 3. Ease of use rating was 5, now 3. Satisfaction rating was 5, now 3. Corporate decision rating -5. AGAIN, BRING BACK THE SYMLIN VILE AND LET US, THE PATIENTS AND THE DOCTORS MAKE THE DECISION WHICH DELIVERY SYSTEM WORKS BEST FOR US.Read More Read Less

Can't tell whether you have injected anything or not. Frequent jams. Injection caps a total pain to deal with and wasteful. Experienced severe hypoglycemia several times. General impression: difficult to use and can be dangerous, long learning curve

I have been using the Symlin Pen since late October as a supplement to diet and exercise along with a Nutrisystem diet that was started the same day. I weighed 313 lbs the day I started a lot and had tried many of the fad diets and failed. Diabetes runs in my family and I of course was at risk at that weight of becoming diabetic at anytime. Every other Dr recommended Gastric Bypass, my Endocrinologist said try this. Reluctantly I did, and am so glad I did, my insurance only covers part of it, but I don't care. I now am down to 253. Feel the best I have in my life, and do not plan to stop anytime soon. I have a goal about a 100 lbs from now and I hope it can help others as much as it helps me!Read More Read Less

I have been on Symlin 120 for a little less than a year. I have lost 95 pounds. Symlin was only part of the weight loss strategy that includes diet and exercise as well, but I definitely felt it made a difference. I found the side effects mild and well worth the gains. I do notice more therapeutic value during periods when my sugars are higher. My insulin use has been reduced from 200 units to less than 50 units per day.

At first it seemed it did nothing, but after I stopped using it for a while, I put on 60 pounds instantly. When I got back on it, the weight gain stopped. It doesn't seem to make you loose much weight, but if you get off, the weight skyrockets.

Not very effective in controlling appetite; which is what my endocrinologist prescribed it for.

I began using Symlin 3 weeks ago injecting 60mcg 3 times per day. It basically didn't do much. I am now on 120 mcg 3 times per day and my blood sugars seem much better. OF course this is in addition to 100 units of Levemir.
