My treatment was Lupron Depot 3.75mg, one injection monthly for six months, for endometriosis and severe anemia from heavy, prolonged bleeding from the endometriosis. I also had suspected infertility. My treatment was from Spring to Fall 2007. Today (11/12/2007), I started my first menstrual cycle since the treatment and soon we'll be trying to conceive our second child! :) I handled most si...

My daughter took this medication from age 7 to 11. She is presently 13 and has gotten Duypretens Contraction (something older people get) and Rhemetoid Arthritis. Please read my post before giving your child this.

I took Lupron for endometriosis after surgery I was given a one time injection. My body has responded very well to Lupron, I do have has flashes more at night but with a fan and the a/c down to 65 I sleep good. During the day I really don't experience hot flashes. Now I'm waiting for my first cycle; trying to concieve; I'm hopeful keep me in prayers. Bfvela0713

This is only my second month. I am just relieved to not be in pain. The side effects are a little extreme but I'll take it any day over the excrutiating pain. The hot flashes are insane, like it really feels your being cooked from the inside out. To help with the "heat", I take evening primrose oil capsules. The headaches are annoying but Advil does wonders. The only thing I cant prevent are the mood swings. I think I go crazy so my solution is to just stay home, away from everyone until I feel better. If you were as tortured as I was by this condition, you should give Lupron a shot. I feel like I'm normal again. I no longer have to be haunted by my menstrual cycle.Read More Read Less

:) I handled most side effects relatively well, with the exception of depression and joint/muscle weakness. I didn't experience either symptom before the treatment. By the fourth month, both were nearly unbearable. Lots of tests were done, but all were normal. Thankfully the side effects are gone now that the medicine is out of my body. I finally feel normal and the endometriosis pain hasn't returned (yet). I am greatful for the benefits Lupron provided me, but I never expected these two side effects to be so debilitating. My advice: Read as much informational literature on Lupron as possible so you can be as aware as possible about what to expect while on Lupron. Weigh the risks and benefits beforehand so you can make an informed choice about your care. Don't hesitate to tell your doctor what you are experiencing while on this drug. A good doctor should help ease your mind and answer any questions you have. My prayers are with all who suffer from this condition, as well as many others. Take care and best wishes for your treatment success! :)Read More Read Less
