I was very hesitant due to some of the negative comments but I have come to find that it's nothing I can't handle. The first week of every month is a little more "emotional" but I don't cry or have fits or anything drastic. I just notice I am a little more sensitive. I have had zero break through bleeding. My periods are normal. My cramps are cramps...sometimes they hurt sometimes they don't....

I was on this and Cesia (another generic of the same name brand) for about 4 years. I recently decided I no longer wanted to take an birth control pill. 3-4 months after I stopped take this pill, my hair started falling out at an alarming rate. It's terrifying and it's not slowing down. This has been going on for the past two months. I'm going back on a pill of a different brand, to attempt to...

I take caziant 28s for birth control and it does its job. Periods are predictable and light. Breasts went up by 1 cup size. I only have 1 bothersome side effect. I have fibro cystic (lumpy) breastso that sometimes are tender.

Let me preface this by saying I have taken many different kinds of birth control pills throughout my teen and adult years. This is by far the BEST bcp for my cystic, hormonal acne. I've also taken Cyclessa which is in the same family (desogestrel & triphasic) with the same results. Any time I went off of Caziant to "switch it up" was when I started breaking out horribly in cystic bumps. If you suffer from hormonal acne, definitely give Caziant a try. Other benefits are light & short periods, very mild mood swings, normal sex drive, no weight gain. Read More Read Less

I have been on this birth control for a week. But I have experienced very awful pain within that first week and also mood swings that catch me off guard, I'm starting to feel calmer and not as much pain but I've never had a birth control that has given me any type of pain in my uterus and that concerns me!

I love this pill!! I can't believe all the complaints, I have not had any issues with it in the last 5 + years I've been taking it. Do not have any side affects such as weight gain, moodiness etc. Makes my period extremely regular and pretty light! I would recommend this to anyone. Im 5'2 120lbs age 26

Never been more unsatisfied with a drug. Doctor switched me from Junel to Caziant. Within two weeks I went from having one or two pimples a month to having horrible cystic all over my chest and back. I'm 20 now and I haven't had this bad of acne since puberty. Also, I got extremely emotional. Would not recommend to anyone! I stopped taking immediately and my symptoms are getting better after a few days.

I absolutely cannot stand this pill. I've never had such harsh side effects from a pill that affect me on a daily basis. I have extreme nausea and dizziness spells that go in and out. I have had a huge headache for the past two days that I have been unable to get rid of. Don't even get me started on the mood swings. I complained 2 weeks into taking this pill and they told me to wait 2-3 months! I was damn near on my period for 3 weeks due to constant spotting. I am not satisfied with this pill at all and would not reccommend it at all! Read More Read Less

I would suggest this pill to NO ONE.

I have tried every low hormone birth control out there and caziant is definitely the perfect match for me. As long as youre good at taking the pill you shouldn't have any severe problems. As for mood swings and such, I haven't had any that are irregular but hey everyone's different. I say give it a shot. I'm usually the type of person that whenever I start a new prescription all the possible side affects happen to me. Except with this! No mood swings, no weight gain, affective...love it so far. I've been taking this pill for about 8 months. I've never taken birth control before, and my doctor recommended Caziant to start out because of the cost. She told me that some of her patients felt "bitchy" while taking it, and if that happened to me, I should contact her so she could switch me to another pill. As another review said, the first week can be a bit sensitive for me, but it's nothing major at all. I've also had breakthrough spotting on two occassions, but it resolved itself within a few horus. I just wanted a pill that would provide protection from pregnancy, regulate my period, and make my intense cramps more bearable. Since taking the pill, I only get mild cramps on the first day, and sometimes no cramps at all. Very satisfied!Read More Read Less

For the first few months on this bc I had absolutely no side effects. After a few months I started getting mood swings and occasional nausea. The mood swings have progressively gotten worse to the point that I will randomly start crying at work for no real reason. The nausea has also gone from not bad to absolutely unbearable and lasts all day. I kept thinking it was something else causing all of these problems and just realized a few days ago after being nausea free for my off week then getting horribly sick after two dis of caziant that it is probably the bc causing most of this. I refuse to take it anymore and will be making an appt with my doctor soon to change it.Read More Read Less

I took cyclessa for about a year and a half and stopped taking it for about 3 months. When I went to receive the birth control again, I was given caziant instead and have seen no ill effects. I've been taking it for about 5 months now, no bad cramps, no weight gain(as thin as I was in high school glory days) regular periods, and no babies! I'm satisfied, and with insurance, it's only 10 bucks. Nice on a college budget.

I have been on this drug for about 6 months now and the only bad thing that I can say is I have cramps, sometimes they are intense but it only usually happens the first day of my cycle and lasts only a few minutes. I was on tri-nessa for about 7 years and then all of a sudden began getting extremely emotional while on my period, i.e. crying over anything and everything.

They told me Caziant was the new name for cyclessa when i went for my refill after being on cyclessa for 3 months. My side effects have been horrible after taking what is supposedly the same drug under a different name for just 2 months I have hAd numerous side effects and have stopped taking for fear of further health risks. My side effects have included: severe depression, skin problems, severe mood swings, heavy and frequent bleeding, headaches, dizziness, nausea, migraines, chest pain, lactation and severe nervousnessRead More Read Less

I switched to caziant since the generic version of Ortho Tricyclen Lo went off the market. I did some research and this seemed very similar - same levels of estrogen, different type of progestin. I've been on it for about 6 months and my side effects seem to be getting worse. PMS mood swings, nausea, back pain, and really heavy periods. To be fair, though, I have no spotting, which I often had with Ortho if I missed a pill. But I realized this month I have to switch brands. Probably will go back to the expensive Ortho.Read More Read Less

I started taking this almost two months ago and have had no side effects. I could not afford Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo and this was as close as I could get to the dosage in Ortho. I started taking it to shrink a large cyst and will continue to take it as an affordable and easy form of birth control.

I was recently on Ortho Cyclen Lo and loved it! I just had to start cutting costs and budgeting and decided that $60/month compared to $10/month was a good saver...boy was I wrong! Not only have I started to be more emotional after being on it for 9 months, but I have seen a huge increase in pilondial cysts on my inner thighs! They were on both sides at one time and take forever to heal! They would also just show up one day out of the blue. I'm switching back to my Lo, its worth the $$ and not risking my health any longer!Read More Read Less
