I was switched to this as a generic alternative by my pharmacy. It made me extremely hormonal with huge mood swings. I would start crying over everything and became very depressed. As soon as I switched back, my symptoms went away.

I was prescribed this because of the terrible experience I had on my other birth control I was taking, and this one is much better. It's a lower dosage, but I never get nauseous, headaches, or spotting. Pharmacist switched me to this and I HATE it. I've been on the pill for 2 years and never had breakthrough bleeding until taking Gildess. Also gave me bad acne which I never had before either. Do NOT take it, although it has been effective at preventing pregnancy the side effects are not worth it

I used to be on microgestin and then my pharmacy switched me to gildess. It's been over a year since i've been on this pill. I HATE this pill! Supposedly, it's the same drug, just a different name but it is not the same pill for a number of reasons. I was given Gildess last month as a generic for Loestrin FE (usually I'm given microgestin FE, but I switched pharmacies). My hair started falling out in clumps! I called my physician and, after looking it up, she told me that Gildess has a higher physiologic effect on androgens, even though the amount of progesterone is the same as what I've been taking.
