I personally think Nucynta (tapentadol Hcl)has more side effect-to-benefit ratio than does other pain killers. I'd consider morphine as having less side effects, but that's just my opinion. Nucynta does have a rapid onset, the pain relief is 'somewhat' noticeable, but not quite enough relief for a (categorized) strong painkiller. The side effects are as unsual as the drug itself: f ... I started on Nucynta back in January 2013 and so far it is the best (and only) pain medicine I can take. I was on hydrocodone 7.5 then switched to Norco 10's and all made me sick to my stomach and did not effectively treat pain as I have arthritis in my lower spine. Nucynta does have its cons though. I started taking Nuycynta 75 mg for break through pain approximately one year ago. I have Fibromyalgia fairly bad and Rheumatoid Arthritis. I also take Nuycynta ER. This drug is wonderful since it doesn't make me nauseated and sweaty like other narcotic pain killers. I don't even realize I'm on a drug when I take Nucynta because there are no side effects. this is the best pain med i have used for my lower back pain i was on perc 10 for 2 1/2 years and they did not work like the 75mg nucynta a lot of people say they dont work but i think they are looking for a buzz and not pain releaf
