Went from 80 degree curvature to nearly normal. At time of injections had severe bruising and swelling. Went away in a few days. Three injection times separated by several weeks.

Although my pinkie finger is straight, it is still black and blue, painful. My Palm is still bruised, all this this after 5 weeks. I would never have this procedure again Dr. Eaton, who has retired, did Needle Aponeurotomy (NA), no cutting, it is done with needles, no pain and did one hand one day and the other hand the next day. Never any pain. He was the only one doing this procedure in U.S....

I have a ~90 degree contracture in my pinky finger (L-shaped at the first joint going up my finger). The specialist I went to told me he thought I was a good candidate for Xiaflex and that he had done many of these procedures. I was trying to avoid surgery as the healing process would be lengthy and involved. As other reviewers have mentioned here, I found the injections somewhat painful, but thankfully the process only took a few minutes. I had some minor pain in my hand and armpit over the next 48 hours, but nothing too bad. Was very much looking forward to the second appointment, where my doctor was going to snap the collagen band which was restricting my finger movement and hopefully give me back a fully functioning finger, or something close to it. Two days later, after numbing my hand, the doctor tried manipulating my finger. Didn't work. Finger is nearly exactly the same L shape bend. Thankfully, my medical insurance and the Endo, the maker of Xiaflex, covered the full amount of the medication. However, even though the procedure did nothing, I will likely get billed for the doctor's services. Based upon my experience and most of the other negative reviews here, I would warn others suffering with DC to avoid this treatment. Again, in my case, Xiaflex was totally ineffectual.Read More Read Less

The little finger on my right hand was so bent that I wasn't able to shake hands because it got in the way. The injection was painful without any local anesthetic, but nothing I had trouble tolerating. Manipulation was with anesthetic but still painful, not that bad though. The cracking and snapping noises were alarming but to be expected I suppose. My finger is still slightly bent, but that's mostly due to arthritis I'm told, and is completely usable.

I went through 16 injection sessions. Ended up loosing approx.30% in length and bend is much worse. I was never notified that this was a potential result. Sex life is non existant because of this treatment. Think twice before doing this to yourself.

!st series of shots were very painful with NO pain medication before injections Second series were even more painful. I developed a 1inch x 1inch blood blister that bled for 1 month. TERRIBLE experience. VERY PAINFUL!! I have had severe back pain, rib pain, hip pain and now knee pain in both knees. My walk is unstable.. I am going to see a knee doctor to have my knees diagnosed. This has been on going for over 5 months.. DO NOT GET THESE SHOTS!!!

WORST MEDICAL DECISION IN MY LIFE! This product should be banned and the people whose lives it’s destroyed should be HEAVILY compensated for their disfigurement. This treatment is life-ruining and SO humiliating that I’m sure a lot of guys don’t even talk about it. Imagine having a 6” penis to start with and ending up with half that length and less girth.

I had several Xiaflex injections in the palm of my left hand for DC in my ring and middle finger in January of 2023 for a greater than 30° curve of those fingers. (FYI had a needle apponeurotomy in 2013 on my right hand, followed by a fasciectomy for DC in my right hand in 2017 which was very successful.) The lidocaine injections and the Xiaflex injections were very painful, and resulted in the expected swelling. Two days later, I had additional painful injections of Lidocaine followed by a relatively painless manipulation. Initially I was pleased, but after wearing the night splint for 4 months, and doing the recommended exercises, my fingers are somewhat straighter but I have chronic pain in the two fingers and I haven’t been able to wear my rings since the day of the procedure secondary to swelling. I have to unbend the fingers in the AM to get them moving. I had ZERO pain in my hand prior to the procedure. For $25,000 I feel my hand is worse off now. I would not recommend this procedure.Read More Read Less

Absolutely BRUTAL and made my condition worse! I have a 90 degree bend, loss of length and width. After my first injection 6 days ago, my groin swelled and was filled with pain. The next day, horrific bruises from the base of my penis all the way to my anus! Also, large bulbous folds of skin appeared, doc texted and said "just blood pooling, it'll go away". The pain was so intense day 1-3, he prescribed Tramadol. Meeting him today for second injection and I'm going to tell him NO, let me heal, then schedule surgery and be done with it. Don't let a urologist tell you "this is less invasive" than surgery, because it's EXTREMELY invasive!!Read More Read Less

The Xiaflex injections into your hand are VERY painful. 4 shots. Bruising and soreness on forearm and inside or arm. 2 days later the manipulation was nothing short of torture. Had several shots of novocaine into palm to numb.I do not the the Xiaflex softened anything ! Palm cord snapped after much work. Pinky cord was still extremely tough and hard. Dr. Said it wasnt moving due to hardness and thickness. Sooo... he had to dig into pinky cord with a needle and try and weaken the cord himself. This pain was Unreal even with numbing. And when the cord finally weakened when he straightened the finger all the skin under my pinky finger ripped and left a gaping half inch hole in my hand. It is extremely sore and I am unable to straighten the finger for therapy reasons because every time I push the finger back it rips the hole I would totally suggest you forgo this type of procedure. It's hard to believe in this day and age that is the standard treatment for Dupuytren's.Read More Read Less

Horse needle shot in the palm of your hand, VERY painful. Then, swelling, therapy for a few weeks and it seemed to work for awhile…until it came back even worse. Now I have it on both hands.

Had injections to middle finger with some slight pain. Dr. Mentioned the more reaction from the injections the better the results should be when manipulating my finger. Returned the following day where I was sedated and my finger was manipulated. Results and experience was great. My finger is straight. Still have some soarness from therapy. All in all very happy.

It did make a difference in reducing the 'curvature' but absolutely did cause shrinkage. I don't believe that this was ever communicated to me. I would have NEVER undergone this procedure if I had any inkling that it would shorten my length.

The most painful experience of my life. Hand selling was so bad I thought my skin was going to tear open. Bruised all the way from my hand to my shoulder. When my finger was manipulated 2 days later chords broke but my skin tore also. It’s been a couple of years. Contracture has returned and nasty looking scars replaced skin tears. Still painful. Never again.

SEEMS LIKE ITS WORKING I WAS ALSO SUPPOSED TO HAVE THIS DONE FOR PERRONES IN 8 WEEKS ABSOLUTLY NO WAY WOULD I WANT THAT PAIN DOWN THERE. NOT DOING IT....PLAN BRead More Read Less
