I started taking this pill about 5 weeks ago and I have had great results so far. I've lost about 7 pounds and finally feel like I've found a pill that doesnt make my hormones go bananas! High estrogen levels run in my family, so this pill seems to have evened me out much more effectively than other types of BC I've tried in the past. The only thing I would say is a negative side effect is the lack of a period. I had a few days of freaking out, but since reading this is a normal side effect for this pill, I've been ok. I'm hoping after a few months it will even out and I will start having at least a day or two of a period, but we will see. Overall I've been very happy with this pill.

Just stopped taking this two days ago.It has taken 4 months to figure out why I feel so crazy. Since taking this I feel like a nut case.I am angry all the time for no reason.It has made work difficult and has made my marrage difficult.I don't want to be anywhere. It was effective in preventing pregnancy and gave me very light/no period at all. About 7 months in, I started getting breakthrough bleeding fairly consistently. I was on Lo Loestrin Fe for about a total of 9 months. Prior to this I never had an irregular cycle and never missed a period, even when taking other birth control pills. The first few months on Lo Loestrin Fe (about 5 months) I spotted and had a period that lasted for about 4 days. I was on Lo Loestrin Fe for about a total of 9 months. Prior to this I never had an irregular cycle and never missed a period, even when taking other birth control pills. The first few months on Lo Loestrin Fe (about 5 months) I spotted and had a period that lasted for about 4 days. Then for the next 2 months I stopped spotting and had a period that again lasted for about 4 days. The last 2 months I stopped getting my period all together and had no spotting. I stopped taking the pill and now 2 months after I have stopped taking the pill, I still have not had a period. I have taken pregnancy tests and was tested at the doctor and I am not pregnant. Has anyone stopped taking this pill and continued to not get their period? I'm wondering if it will ever come back and if so, how long it could take.

Lo Loestrin FE was by far the better of the pills i had taken. I had zero periods and no weight gain or mood swings. The issue came about 1 yr and 1/2 into taking it....I have noticed that for me on each of the kinds of bc pills i tried over the years this is when I had issues with all of them. It completing destroyed by sex drive. My oBGYN said the same thing happened to her while taking bc p ... Show Full Comment

I dont know that this is a common issue but it did happen to me
