Was on medication for two weeks. Started at 10mcg, then 20mcg. the pain relief was OUTSTANDING. Better than anything else I've tried. However, the sedation, constipation, and nausea associated w/ this med was far greater than other opioid meds and was too much to bear and have been switched to Nucynta ER, which has less side effects, but less pain relief as well. I first started with the 5 mcg's. Then they bumped me up to the 10 mcg patch. It worked for about 2 weeks, but started getting itchy around patch site. Especially when I overheated. I removed the last patch and had severe scaly, blistery like skin. The arm itself was swollen. It's been 2 weeks now since removal, still itchy and arm is sore. This medication has caused me to experience blisters all over my body including in and around my mouth, severe headachs,feavers, and deformaty on my face and breasts.

Had been taking 6-8 Norco per day for many years to combat chronic low back pain. A new doc switched me to Butrans 5 months ago - first at the 5, then upped to the 10. Thanks doc!!! This patch has been a godsend - excellent pain relief with few side effects. The long-term nature of the medicine finally lets me sleep through the night (previously would wake when Norco wore off).
