Ruptured disc L5S1...taking Hydrocodone 7.5 325 2-3 times a day...Pain doc wanted me to try Butran patch for round the clock relief. Really wanted it to work-started with 10 patch-dizziness,depression, mild rash. Great pain relief 1st 3 days. Boosted to 20 patch for 3 days-very bad gastritis attack now and took patches off. Had been on hydrocodone for many months as needed for knee pain and arthritis. Since I have no cartilage left in my knees that is my most painful area. I started on my very first patch yesterday (10 mcg/hr)after being off ALL pain meds for about 2 weeks and almost exactly 24 hours later became very light headed and couldn't keep my eyes open very much. Comment:
The patch tends to stick well in the beginning but then will loosened over time and it also causes rash irritation underneath any ideas of what I could do to get over this? It works really really well relieves pain like nothing else has I just can't live without it though. Any ideas please help.

It helps relieve back pain. Does not stop the pain but decreases it enough that I can function well enough to continue to live alone.
