I feel lucky that I lost my last pill pack. I called the doc and I am switching to a new pill. After reading these reviews, I realize that I have been experiencing many of the same things. The main issues are that my skin is breaking out and I am depressed. I'm not happy, my mood is low, and people tell me all the time to smile. I have no sex drive. What is the point of a birth control p ... Show Full Comment

I have tried a very long list of various birth control methods including Nuvaring, Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo, Yaz, among other pills. Loryna has been the absolute worst as far as breakthrough bleeding and irregular cycles. It didn't make my mood swings as terrible as the others, so I gave it an entire year for my body to adapt - it didn't. I'd have a dark, extremely uncomfortable period ofte ... Show Full Comment

Our beautiful 20 year old daughter died January 30, 2013 from a massive pulmonary embolism while taking Loryna (drospirenone and ethinyl). She was in otherwise perfect health. She had been on Loryna for 6 months. She died with perfect skin just as advertised & just as the fine print says on the folded warning sheet inside the box that nobody ever reads, an “elevated” risk of clotting in a stat ... The only reason I give 5 stars for Effectiveness and Ease of Use is because I haven't gotten pregnant. Other than that, this BC is HELL! I was previously on Gianvi before being switched to Loryna by my pharmacy (Which, by the way, they can't do unless they get your doctor's approval!) but that's another issue. I have been on this pill for 6 months now and I have gained 40 poun ... Show Full Comment

I was taking Gianvi and have a similar story that the horrible Medco switched me to Loryna (should be Lorena- as in turns you into a crazy Lorena Bobbit Harpy). I figured I'd try it out since it was "the same." I'm tiny 4'10" and gained 20 pounds in 3 months (previously 115 lb). I actually was more active Bikram yoga, hockey, and martial arts x2 a week when I noticed the ... Show Full Comment
