This birth control is very effective however the symptoms I have received are not at all fun. When I got it in I noticed-headaches every day- tired- hormonal- ance- irritated- bleed heavily for two full months and then not bleed for another two months- upon putting it in I understood that it is possible cysts may form...what I did not realize and the doctor neglected to tell me until I talked to ... I have had the Nexplanon implant for over a year. The first six months, I had no problem with it, but the last six months have been rough. Between the random lactating, mood swings, acne breakouts, burning at the insertion site, lack of sexual desire of any kind, periods that don't stop for more than a week every three months, and finding it impossible to fall asleep, I'm ready to just hav ... Chose this method as I'm not good at remembering to take birth control pills... Had just finished my period, and haven't had any bleeding at all since having it put in. Which I love, hoping it stays that way. The insertion wasn't a ... Show Full Comment

I went in and go the Nexplanon simply because I am sexually active. I haven't been on birth control for months, and was having unprotected sex with my boyfriend. When I got the Nexplanon I was on my period. My OB told me to come in when I was on it to have it inserted. Course I was bruised around the sight. Later that day, and next day my period was light and ended. It has been a good deal sin ... Show Full Comment

I have been using Nexplanon for 20 days. The insertion was painless, I only received a small bruise at the insertion site that dissipated at a normal rate. The insert is not noticeable. I can not feel it in my arm, and when touching the area with my hand, the insert is subtle, not obviously felt. There is no pain. I have had no spotting. My only side effect so far is feeling angry more often than ... Show Full Comment
