I found this product only somewhat effective, and suffered serious side-effects the last time I used it. I recommend NOT using this product. Over a period of 3 weeks, I used Benylin tablets 5 times to relieve early fall allergy syptoms. I used the recommended dosage each time. The last time I took this over-the-counter medication, I suffered a vasovagal reaction: a tense feeling all over my ...

Was hoping that I would fall asleep better tonight with clear sinuses, only to find myself unable to blow the excess flem out of my nose (since the Benylin dries it up). Been blowing my nose every 30 seconds, trying to get something, ANYTHING out. And, even though it is supposed to be a night time medicine, it is making me feel weird, rather than sleepiness. All I can say is, I am sure glad that I don't have to work tomorrow.

Over a period of 3 weeks, I used Benylin tablets 5 times to relieve early fall allergy syptoms. I used the recommended dosage each time. The last time I took this over-the-counter medication, I suffered a vasovagal reaction: a tense feeling all over my body, chills, extreme light-headedness, slight nausea, sudden onset of a cold sweat, and finally my body was shaking uncontrollably all over. I was taken to the emergency room at the closest hospital, where I remained under observation for 11 hours. The shakes lasted about 15 minutes, but it took about 4 hours for my color to return to normal (I had become white as a sheet). Read More Read Less
