First 30 days stopped the need to urinate at night, and improved flow. I did experience back pain, reduced sex drive, and some depression. The last 6 months I only take it every third day with fewer side affects. I am 65 years old

This stuff works wonders for me. It worked the first day I used it. My quality of life has improved dramatically. I’m 61, and I’m loving life again now that I can pee!

I was getting up 25 times a night. I couldn't maintain erection longer than 10 minutes. This pill made me a changed man. I sleep thru the night, i empty out bladder every time. Momma says I'm like a new man in bed now. Been 20 years since i lasted over an hour.

Complained to doctor about urination at night and terrible urgency. I wanted to get to urologist and have green therapy done. I am in Canada and you go on waiting list. My doctor told me urologist would not deal with me unless tried a drug therapy first. Took one pill and felt my little fella shrink and basically wilt away. Took two pills in total and completely gone impotent. I am an active physically fit 69 year old with no other health issues and dont take any other drugs. I am amazed after taking the two pills and now reading this review section and similar tales. Seems to me to be almost a class action lawsuit situation reading these reviews. I regret ever taking one pill.Read More Read Less

Took this medication for two weeks. It did help with urination issues (weak stream, difficult starting, frequency of urination). However, the side effects are just not worth it. Took it in the evening. I was lethargic, mentally foggy, weak and felt light headed until about 5 or 6 in the evening. The side effects are not worth the benefit for me.

I am a type 2 diabetic and I usually get a clean bill of health from my doctor. However, last time I visited by doctor, I complained of frequent urination, both during the day and at night. I was placed on Tamsulosin and Bupropion. Within days I had violent diarrhea, nausea, headache, dizziness, brain fog, loss of balance, unable to concentrate . I chalked it up to being on the new medications. I immediately contacted my physician and was taken off the Bupropion. Those symptoms subsided soon thereafter except I continued with the dizziness when I rose too fast. Then I began to notice I was no longer able to get an erection and the amount of ejaculate was diminishing and then it eventually stopped all together. I have seen some change in my urination but I am not happy with the overall progress of this Tamsulosin and waiting to see the doctor in the next few days. If you are prescribed this drug, do your research on it and watch the ED. . Read More Read Less

My ex husband, was diagnosed with prostate cancer, he was perscribed Tamulosin, he has been taking this medicine for about 6 years, he is now disabled, bed ridden, pray about it, before taking this medicine, it has caused him to have diareah, his hands shake sometimes, hardly has no appetite, do not take, it's my opinion, like I said pray about it, before taking this medicine.

After 3 weeks on Tamsulosin I developed Afib. Have never had it before. 2 days in the hospital, now on xarelto and lopressor for 6 months to make sure it doesn't happen again. PCP and cardiologist were not surprised and immediately took me off the Tamsulosin. 5 weeks later, no recurrences of the afib, stress test was great, blood works great, but still on the meds to make sure it was a one time event caused by the Tamsulosin.

After reading all the negative reviews, I must be the only one that the drug has helped. I’m taking 2 pills at a time once a day. I may have to get up and urinate once at night as opposed to 4 or 5 times. I also take Mybetric once a day to improve my stream. It really helps. I have two side effects. One is hot flashes, which is rare for a man to have. But, if I eat something before taking it, I usually don’t have any. The other is, I can achieve orgasm but don’t ejaculate. Or ejaculate very little. Which is not a big problem. I can enjoy sex and orgasm without the mess.Read More Read Less

I have taken it at night a few days at a time for kidney stones and had no problem. This time was told to take it in the morning 3 days later in the er with chest pain, palpitations, light headed, shortness of breath, 5 days later in er again found out I had irregular heart beat. 3 days later another er trip. Stopped taking Flomax in the morning and started taking at night. Had chest pains 1 time but I had eaten about 90 minutes earlier so not sure if it was because of not eating. Upon reading about it don’t take if allergic to SULFA. You would think urologist give it out a lot would be more informed. I called the doc and was told by another wanna be doctor it’s not the Flomax talk to my heart doctor????Read More Read Less

I am a 69-year old male and took Tamsulosin (0.4 mg once per day) for over 5 years for difficult urine streaming and frequent urination due to enlarged prostate. The medicine made streaming easier and not painful, which it occasionally was, though I continued to urinate from 2 to 5 times through the night. My new urologist prescribed Finasteride (5 mg once per day) to reduce the size of my prostate, which after several months it has done. My prostate is now normal size, so I discontinued taking Tamsulosin. Urination is a little more difficult than when taking Tamsulosin, but not significantly. Tamsulosin side effects that I was unaware of have stopped: dizziness when I stand quickly and continuous runny nose (I thought this was due to allergies). The dizziness had gotten worse; I almost blacked out a few times just from standing up quickly. I'm done taking Tamsulosin and probably won't take it again due to these side effects.Read More Read Less

I am 61 years old. In August of '22 I finally reached a point where my BPH symptoms were severe and worrisome. During urination my stream was often merely a trickle. I was worried that my urethra would one day soon be blocked and I'd need emergency surgery. I was also waking up 3x-4x each night to void my bladder. So I started taking 0.4MG Tamsulosin 1x per day. Now (December 2022) my stream is more of a stream, I have much less urgency, and I am sleeping through the night or getting up only 1x. The only noticeable side effect so far is occasional but temporary congestion while lying in bed. I avoided this pill for years, so I am surprisingly pleased. I may experiment to backing off from 1x per day to 1x every other day and see how it goes. But so far so good.Read More Read Less

This medication almost killed me. It caused rapid heartbeat and sudden syncope twice in my case. This happened when I suddenly fainted and dropped hard on hard tiles on kitchen floor hurting my head and nick few hours after taking the medication, and another time in the shower causing body bruises. Just imagine experiencing sudden syncope while driving to work on a major highways, I would have lost my life. I was admitted to hospital for checkups to see if my syncope was related to something else and stayed for 34 hrs costing me close to $43,500!!!. I was told my syncope was caused by Tamsulosin and nothing else as heart, lungs, and brain were just fine. I would never have taken this medication had I known it causes these side effects. NEVER AGAIN. Please don't take it. Read More Read Less

I’m a 62 year old man and I’ve been taking this medication for almost 20 years to alleviate some of the symptoms of BPH. It took about 2 weeks to improve my situation and I can still go through the night without needing to go for a pee. I did stop taking it for a couple of months after about 10 years to see what effect that might have , and I found that I was having to pee more often and was struggling to fully empty my bladder. A couple of weeks after restarting it, everything settled down again quite nicely. I have experienced retrograde ejaculation, but only twice in all that time, and I’ve had no problem getting, or maintaining an erection. I’ve not had any of the other problems that some poor chaps seem to have experienced, so I’m clearly very happy to continue using this . I would imagine that most people don’t have significant side effects from taking it.Read More Read Less

I was prescribed this for having to go very often. Took it at 4pm. Didn't notice much till about 4 hours later. Made me feel a bit relaxed. Woke up at 4am with sever headache. Totally stuffed up nose. And next morning I feel drugged up and still can't breathe through my nose. Not sure if I'll take it again.

I took Tamsulosin while trying to get rid of prostatitis. After taking ONE capsule, I had severe dizziness, mental confusion, and depression, and my sinuses were so stuffed up, I had to breathe through my mouth for the next 24 hours. It's too bad, because this drug is effective for improving urine flow. But the side effects are just too awful for me.

Side effects are the biggest problems from sexual problems, headache, and stuffy nose. I really do not like this medicine.
