I was on kariva for 10 years and the pharmist switched me to viorele and it has been the worst experience of my life!! Weight gain, depression, bloating constantly, water retention, migraines, completely awful. I've called the doctor and he said it could be my birth control. I found out kariva was not discontinued !! I gained 10-15 pounds within the first two months (I am 5' 7'' and went from 140-155 within weeks). I recommend trying this and disregard the bad reviews ... Show Full Comment

I thought I was going crazy, I would get dizzy, didn't want to get out of bed, became paranoid and would wake up in night sweats with my heart racing. I had trouble breathing, started questioning my relationship and would cry uncontrollably. I thought I had lost my mind at 23, then my mother read the side effects and foun ... Show Full Comment

Being newly married AND diagnosed with PCOS (poly-cystic ovarian syndrome), my doctor prescribed Mircette. The pharmacy suggested the generic version, Viorele. I'd never had bad experiences with generic meds before, I went along with it. The experience was not much different than other oral contraceptives I'd used in the past, though I'd never used any for more than a month before. My ... Show Full Comment
