This shot was very painful and my knee hurt worse after the shot then before. This was the last option before having knee replacement. It took 4 weeks but it finally made a difference and now I have returned to my previous activities. I have Osteoarthritis, bone on bone. MD said I have 80 yr old knees and my I am several decades younger than that. So while very painful to receive the shot... ...

I have been receiving Gel One injections in my knee every 6 months like clockwork for seven years. My results have been outstanding. The procedure if done correctly with lidocaine would be described as uncomfortable, not painful. I was told 7 years ago that I needed a knee replacement but I bowl every week and play golf 50-60 rounds per year. Gel One has been a godsend.

My husband receive gel one knee injection 4/26/2022 : he had a severe reaction ended up in the ER and to this day has bizarre severe symptoms similar to a stroke, it never did help his knee and only made it worse -but that is the least of our problems now as he has been permanently disabled since-no doctor can figure out exactly what happened except that he had a reaction -our lives have forever changed -it has been a nightmare we can’t wake up from.

I received the GelOne shot and within 60 minutes I developed a rash that eventually covered most of my body. I was rushed to ER and treated for anaphalaxis. After 5 hours I was allowed to go home with an Epi-pen. The rash, buring & pain returned in about an hour. The morning brought it back more strongly and I had to use the Epi-pen on my way back to ER with blue lips. I then spent 2 1/2 days in the hospital with IV treatment with prednisone and Benadryl, first in ICU then in a regular bed. For a month, I continued taking prednisone and Benadryl orally. When I stopped the medications under doctor's guidance, I developed PMR (polymyalgia rheumatica) as a result of anaphalaxis from GelOne and have had to continue taking prednisone to mitigate some of the pain in my knee. By far, the worst medical experience I've had.Read More Read Less

6 months after 3rd treatment and no relief. The cortisone shots worked much better and were cheaper.

I got the Gel-One injection to my left knee about 7 weeks ago. I have never been sicker in my life plus I can barely walk without terrible pain. I am most concerned about feeling so weak, dizzy, upper respiratory problems and my walking gait is totally off. Medicare no longer pays for the other injections that were successful in the past for me. I should have been given the option to pay out of pocket for better injections. I am just sick over this - literally! Never use this product from Zimmer-Biomed. Read More Read Less

Yesterday, after 6 months since my first Gel One injection, I received another one. My PA does an excellent job of injecting lidocaine first, then injects the Gel One. Very little discomfort, if any. My first injection 6 months ago was very helpful. It allows me to be very mobile. No races, mind you. I would recommend Gel One to anyone with arthritic knee discomfort. The injection process is quick and easy. My Medicare Part A&B plus supplemental policy covers the procedure and medication.

I have had several injections of Gel One over the last 5-7 years, in my left knee. I had another injection of Gel One on Tuesday. In the past, I have gotten 6-12 months of partial pain relief from the injections. It needs to be noted that they do not "fix" the knee, they just lubricate it up, for a while. I am 70... Tuesday the doctor said I might need to consider a knee replacement soon, but I am hoping these continue to work... my wife had a knee replacement, and hurts worse than before. The shot is painful.. no doubt, but it is over in about 60 seconds. I will accept that for 6-12 months of relief. It is not a cure-all, and the knee still hurts some, even after the shot, but it is a bearable pain, and I have put off the knee replacement for 5-7 years, so far.Read More Read Less

I went for my first gel injection tbis morning. My Rheumatologist did it and had very little to no pain. First step ultrasound to see the exact injection site, next lidocaine spray, lidocaine injected and then gel I felt a little coldness when lidocaine was injected but then 0 when gel was all over not a bad experience at all.

I am on my second (or third?) injection, every six months! I am bone on bone on my right knee. I get shots in both knees, very little discomfort as my PA uses numbing freeze before the injections. No side effects and I will continue to use this product for as long as possible. I do not want knee replacement. Cost is $6,000, of which I paid nearly $350 to $400 out of pocket. Worth it to me!

The shot has allowed me to play doubles tennis twice a week and golf once a week. I can walk with no pain in the knee. I am on my first shot and getting my 2nd shot in after 6 months.

I received the generic Gel one (the worst insurance plan at my job) and it did nothing in fact I feel worse off. I'm going back to the cortisone shots they work for me. I'm so disappointed that I wasted my time and money.

First of all, the injections were quite painful, and the relief was mediocre at best. The minimal relief i experienced was very short-lived. After about 3 weeks my knee pain was back to where it was prior to the injections
