Enbrel is great for rhematoid arthristispain relief: however I keep getting theses sinus infections and I usually end up going off enbrel for a mont or longer to clear the infections.

I saw improvement during the first 6 months, however, I was just coming out of a flare and had some improvement even before starting treatment, so I'm unsure if it is due to the drug or not. I am now experiencing slightly more pain and restriction of movement in the second 6 months, but not a complete flare-up like the last one.

Serious Side Effects--optical neuritis--- I took Enbrel for 2 years 3 months. For the first 18 months It really helped me live again. My swelling and pain were reduced drastically. I would occasionally have a bad day and have to take some prendisone, but worked well. I started getting headaches and dizzyness that went on for probably 10 months. Serious Side Effects--optical neuritis--- I took Enbrel for 2 years 3 months. For the first 18 months It really helped me live again. My swelling and pain were reduced drastically. I would occasionally have a bad day and have to take some prendisone, but worked well. I started getting headaches and dizzyness that went on for probably 10 months. But it still helped me so much I was willing to live with it. My eyesight was noticeable weaker, and I started getting this pain behind my right eye...like I was being stabbed in the brain. I went to see the eye dr and I was diagnosed with optical neuritis, which is swelling of the optical nerve. If the optical nerve is damaged you go blind, so that is a big deal. I had to stop the Enbrel 3 months ago and have been miserable. The eye pain has gone away but my vision has not returned. I can barely see out of my right eye, like I can make out shapes and stuff but can't read a book if I cover my left eye. Sucks, I am 27 years old. It worked well until it ruined my eye....Great drug, terrible side effects. pick your poison carefully.

This drug, after taking it four years led to continuous infections for the last two and half years. Four hospital stays,in home infusion theropy with Vancomysin four times, the loss of my large toe. I am not diabetic. The unhealing of sores caused by sepsis and the unhealing sores that led to 12 casts and off loading boots of all kinds has keep me inactive all this time.
