    Here again i was prescibed this drug without any of my drs having first checked that it would be in conflict with the methadone that i take for relief of cronic pain.it has only been four days that i have been taking the 600 mg tablet,however the side affects are the worse i have ever encuntered.so much so,that i had to be taken to the emergency room during the night to seek relief of the extreme ...     I was prescribed rifampin for MRSA infection in my nose..I originally got MRSA from an SSI from spinal surgery 5 years ago and it was I thought resolved until I had a nose infection in April where a culture showed MRSA..I was put on Rifampin Doxy and Mucipricin cream..I had to stop the Rifampin 600mg/day as my body and joints were in pain.     It worked very effectively combined with Bactrim DS two tabs bid along with Rifampin one cap twice a day to suppress a flare up of MRSA inside of my knee post knee replacement.I nver had open wounds or drainge assoc with MRSA.     If I did not know better I would have thought I wrote yoopergal post. I too had cipro and rifampin. Mine was for a knee infedction to remove scar tissue. The knee was replaced five years ago. I was given 40 days of rifampin. I have finished the cipro. After 24 days of twice a day, i stopped taking it. I simply hate the way I feel, hopefully I didn't make a mistake.     I was prescribed 10 days of Rifampin with 10 days of Bactrim. Due to a spinal-cord injury, I have been on a lot of pain meds for years (Methadone, Dilaudid, Soma, and Klonopin for a related condition).
