The first two days i felt better than i have in years. When I came home from hospital I layed in chair for 6 days on 3 pills a day unable to move. I could not get any doctors to call back, the pharmacist suggested to reduce dosage. I have done that and feel better, not great like i did on the lamictal i took for 5 years. I am 27 have 2 young children,I have had migraines since I was very yng it runs in my family would have migraines once a month that would take me down to the bed for bout 3 days an inbetweee mothly migraines I suffered from terrible headaches ive had lots of tesg done and my migraines and headaches were a mystery i was in a car wreck on 6/7/2012 ad severe anxiety and was diagnosed with severe bi-polor depression anxitey spikes the stress triggered past childhood memories that were not good so i tried diffrent meds from my doc an no luck so i put on depakote 500mg twice daily one i was preparing my routy mothly migraines that would start with a bad headace vomiting an fear of pain an every migraine scareme bc the pain could get so bad i didnt want to live i waoted for the headache to start and it never did thei was iore fear that this was going to be a midnigmigraine that would end up in the ER welp a whole month has went by an only one sinus headahe that was takin care of with benedryl

When I took Depakote it was awesome it seemed like the perfect medication.. I read a comment below saying that you would reather gain weigh and be sain than be skinny and in sain.. Sound familar I said the exact same thing now I have gained about 100 pounds and have more health issue do to weight gain.. Sound familar I said the exact same thing now I have gained about 100 pounds and have more health issue do to weight gain.. I did the whole health class that tells you to whatch what you eat that wasn't it. it was the meds.. I know it because when I took myself off I lost 22 pounds in less than a month without diet or exercise.. So you may get to a point when you are torn. I had to choose to live and be a lil off balance than to make all my doctors happy and stay medicated.I think this a great med but the sideeffect were devistating I have more health problems then my grandmother and I fight with my ups and downs but I try to walk myself through it to know that what ever I am feeling at the moment will pass.I will not always be UP or Drown for too long a period and with this in mind I never crash to hard on my lows.. I am learning how to control myself.. This is not for everyone just for me.. I just want yall to know that if you keep gaining the weight from my exsperience it never stopped for me until I stopped the med.. Best of luck
