1986, I contracted Lyme Disease, and was not aware as of yet. 1987, While I was waiting for results for Lyme Disease, I was hospitalized. 1986, I contracted Lyme Disease, and was not aware as of yet. 1987, While I was waiting for results for Lyme Disease, I was hospitalized. When the results were positive for Lyme Disease (stage 2), the first IV medication was Zinacef. I felt worse than the symptoms from the disease. As soon as the medication bottle was empty (30 mins.) I was vomiting and dry heaving for 4-5 hours. The medication was distributed every 6 hours. This continued for 2 days, then switched me to a different medication. Used that one for 2 days, was feeling better and released. It was the week of the fair, I was 15, and I missed it entirely due to the side effects of IV Zinacef.Read More Read Less
