I have been using an inhaler for 24 years now. Primatene mist has been the best thing I have found to work for me personally... especially since the new inhalers they have with the HFA...

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, I am shocked beyond belief that WebMD would ever suggest using an OTC inhaler such as Primatene Mist for treating a condition as serious as asthma. If you are having problems breathing, or struggling with your asthma symptoms, you should contact your physician, got to the nearest er, or call 911. Primatene Mist is not something any qualified medical professio...

The medication works okay the only problem I have is the inhaler states it has 165 inhalations the truth is much different than that you'll be lucky to get half of that medication out of one of those inhalers just a heads up for people who are so sick and tired of being ripped off in this country

Used the old formulation for 30+ years. Has always worked for me IMMEDIATELY. without any side effects. Very upset when it was taken off the market for several years. Currently using the newer version, which still works well but is a weaker formulation than the older Primatene inhaler. I still find it to work much more rapidly for me than the prescription rescue inhalers! I also have an albuterol rescue inhaler, but use Primatene for more severe asthma attacks... I have had no side effects whatsoever from its useRead More Read Less

Primatene HFC is not as effective as the old Primatene with CFC.

I'm not a doctor but I can tell you that I've been using primatene mist since I was 3 years old and it was the only inhaler that ever worked for me. After primatene mist production was ended in 2012, I had to see a doc and get ventolin. On a scale of 1 to 10, I rate ventolin a 2, and for Primatene mist, a 10. I'm 62 now. Finally, I can breath again. None of the prescriptions that I ever tried would even begin to compare to the effectiveness of Primatene Mist.

Unfortunately I have suffered from Asthma since I was a child. Up until two years ago I lost insurance. So I've been suffering. A few days ago I saw a local CVS selling and OTC inhaler and I was excited. It works! However the side effects are extreme for me. Immediately after taking the first hit, my throat became sore and a few hours later I developed a cough. Today, not even 24 hours after taking it, my body is in an extreme amount of pain, my cough has gotten worse and I have an extremely high fever. I NEVER right reviews, but the side effects of this inhaler that ACTUALLY works is a bit scary.Read More Read Less

No other medicine, OTC or RX by the doctor has been as effective. I just bought another inhaler since PM is available now and I will use this vs my RX inhaler. The RX inhaler does not seem to work as well or last as long. I am happy PM is available once again. I hope they did not change the medicine too much. I believe they only made it so the CFC's were taken out. Either way, if we praise it too much, Big Pharma and docs will get worried and it will be pulled off the shelves again for some lame reason. This. stuff. works.!Read More Read Less

I used Primatene Mist for 25 years without a problem. It always worked for me. It was inexpensive and effective. Now I'm forced to purchase an expensive and ineffective medication delivery system that does not work the majority of the time. I can't keep paying for new atomizers as I cannot afford them. Please bring back Primatene Mist!

I find that Primatene WAS the ONLY effective treatment, prescription or over-the-counter for my COPD. I used it from 1975 until the EPA pulled it. in 2011. Now I'm forced to use the heart killer prescribed by the VA ... you know... all the different names for formoterol. I am managing on an "as needed" basis not the twice a day as prescribed. I find that most MDs today either become irate or never heard of epinephrine therapy for COPD or asthma. The non-CFS Primatene is stuck somewhere in FDA hell and more an more people are suffering and having to bend over for "the treatment".Read More Read Less

This medication has changed my life for the better . I am very sad and uneasy now that the stupid FDA in collaboration with doctors and big pharma have been a part of taking it from me . Very sad indeed . I just wish that I could have a chance to tell them my opinions on what they have done .....I took this medication for over 43 years with NO PROBLEMS AT ALL !!!!!!!!!!!!

This drug has been a life saver for me for 45 yrs. I has worked when many prescription inhalers made my wheezing and shortness of breath worse. It has allowed me to lead a very physically active life because of its convenience and dependability. I will not attempt to do activities I did before dwithout Primatine Mist.

I have had asthma for 20 years. After many different types of prescription drugs, and many doctors that were reluctant to give me anything at all even after testing positive for asthma, I found this miracle drug! It was such piece of mind knowing that I had instant relief anytime I needed it without the side effects I suffered from some of the prescription meds. I could also just run to the pharmacy and pick up another vial if I ran out, instead of the emergency room. Big pharma wants your money, the only way to get it is to keep you sick and dependent on them. THAT is why Primatene is gone. NOT because of any dangers it posed!Read More Read Less

Primatene Mist is the only medication that helps me through my asthma through allergy season. It works a whole lot better than the prescription medications.

I am a 55 year old woman who used Primatine Mist for close to 40 years without any problems. I did not abuse this medication. I used this medication when I had problems with my asthma. I am an adult. I know what meds work for me, and Primatine worked. I have been perscribed several different types of medications that do not work for me, and are over priced. I now pay 40 every 20 days for A rescue inhaler that does not work, and another 40 for a long term inhaler. I only paid 20 for a a Primatine inhaler that lasted several months. You tell me who is benifiting from this ban. Not the asthmatics, thats for sure!!Read More Read Less

Primatene Mist has saved my life many times since it first came on the market in the 1960's. Now since it has been removed from the market, there is nothing that works as well or as quickly, especially the dangerous prescription drugs now offered.

Used it from 1972 until it was banished. It was the most effective treatments I ever used. It effectively managed my asthma along with the 'old fashioned' drugs like Theodur and Serevent. NO dangerous Cortisones or like products needed. It immediately relieved asthma attacks brought on by exertion, exercise (even laughing), allergens, and opened airways long enough for the medicines to take effect! No side effects except easy breathing. None of today's medicines work as well for me. Not having this medicine has restricted my lifestyle considerably.Read More Read Less

My doctor told me to stop taling it and take all the prescription drugs he gave me. I did and ended up in the hospital twice that year. I dropped all the Rx stuff and got back on Primatene mist. I could breathe again !!! So now it's gone again. It's all about the money. Doctors get nothing from Primatene and the pharmacists, EPA, etc . don't either.
