so far qvar has been the best asthma preventive i have used, and i have been asthmatic for 22 years, it is quick to take affect and i have not had any negative side effects. I recommend this medicine to any asthmatic who cant get their asthma under control, it works way better than advair, which gave me pneumonia and canker sores. the only downfall is the price, it is spendy at walgreens it is $15

My 38 year old autistic son was switched to Qvar 6 months ago. He began having mild anxiety and now is anxious all the time. Had to switch because insurance wouldn't pay for the medication that worked and didn't cause side effects!! He's being switched to another medication that hopefully won't cause the anxiety.
