I am not usually one to complain about a new drug. Being an RN, I try to really give things a go and let it have some time before judging it but I am making an exception with this! Immediatel after getting the mirena I started losing my hair, they blamed on me being post partum. However this did not happen for the 8 weeks I had nothing in post partum. Ive had it for a little over a year. I do have a lot of pain when im about to start my period. so far i havent had any of the symptoms that were described in other reviews. just once and a while i have sharp pain. my sex drive is the same as it was before. but before mirena i was on the pill for a long time. the worst part was insertion it only took my doctor like 2 minutes so it wasnt that bad.

I had this inserted a year ago after my second child was born and had no problems until now. I have all the symptons of being pregnant but a hpt says I am not. I feel tired to my very core, nauseous, colostrum leaking, even though I finished nursing 1 year ago and now I am getting headaches more frequently. *** Insertion*** This was EXTREMELY PAINFUL to have inserted. I've never had children before, perhaps that was a factor. The entire procedure lasted about 4 or 5 minutes and it was the single most painful experience of my life to date. I question whether or not I EVER want to have children.
