31 year old mom of two, a 6 yr old girl and a 1 year old boy. Had my Mirena inserted in Feb/08. There was a little discomfort, but compared to my 16 hour natural labour with my my son it was bearable. However, the bleeding has been non-stop from the first day and it's almost June. No cramping, but feel a little nauseous and some hair thinning...Feel like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard ... Show Full Comment

I have had mine in since August of 2005. I got it about 6 months after my daughter was born. I bled for a few months and then finally the bleeding stopped and I stopped having periods altogether. The IUD has been great for preventing pregnancy and it's nice not having a period, but I too have lost a lot of my hair and it seems to be looking worse all the time. Also, after I had my daughter, I ... Show Full Comment

I had Mirena inserted over 2 months ago. The insertion was easy, just minor discomfort; however, I have been bleeding almost non-stop since that day. There have been 2 days that I have not bled. And I have zero sex drive. Unfortunately my insurance did not cover this so I am stuck paying it off for the next 8 months. So I'm going to try and suck it up until then.

Satisfied with the ease and reliability. However the mood swings, depression, cramping, acne and weight gain are too much. I have only had it for 6 months and I will be having it taken out next week.
