I had this put in on January 8 of this year; I thought that it would be fine and I wouldn't have to worry about getting pregnant again and taking a pill everyday. Sinc inserted, I have had shooting pain; cramps that make it unbearable to move and sleep at times. I have experienced dizziness and a period that won't go away. I definitely think that it isn't for everyone and it's not ... Show Full Comment

I got the Mirena inserted 2 days ago during my period. The insertion was a little intense for me because I haven't had any kids yet. I'm still bleeding a little from my period, but not horrible. It is a rare side effe ... Show Full Comment

I was nauseous, gained weight, depressed, had mood swings, and even had a bit of "dripping of urine" on this med. I felt terrible for a year until I realized all these symptoms were from the Mirena. If you begin to feel ill after having this thing inserted, have it removed because you will not feel better later, but worst as time progresses. Having it removed was the best thing I did for ... i got the mirena almost 2 yrs ago now and it has worked, however ive had many side effects. i did not find getting the mirena painful at all, but this is probably due to the fact that i have two kids. during the first yr i had severe pms, especially moodiness and headaches. those side effects have disappeared now, however i have gained 35 pounds and have lost alot of hair in the past year. althoug ...
