I initially started using mirena as a way to control my outrageously long and heavy periods. It took a while but after a year I almost never even have a period. And thankfully am no longer anemic. And I havnt gotten pregnant yet so its pretty effective in that way. Im thinking of having it removed. Side effects are mild but I have been hearing way too many horror stories about it. i've found out in the 3 months that i've had it, it can cause infections like UTI's and PID.

I have had the Mirena for almost 4 Years, and am very satisfied with its efectiveness! After about 1 Year with the Mirena my Periods lessend,PMS went away along with all my worries!! No I have decided to have it removed since My husband and I have decided to try for another child (our 2nd) and I was wondering about the symptons and affects of the removal. Can any one help with answers??

Very good birth control. I've had it for almost 3 years and I have some pain,I spot it seems with the season change, nothing heavy.A little scared about having it removed although putting it in was not that bad.
