I got the Mirena after having my daughter. I didn't have to remember the pill and it was a cheaper option since I wasn't having to buy pills every month. Worst decision ever. I do suffer from depression but it made me in such a dark hole, I had to get a different depression medication. I had no sex drive and I had horrible mood swings which all of this caused major problems in my mar ... Show Full Comment

But anyway, I tried Nuva ring but I hated the idea of touching myself. So my Doctor suggested Mirena. I must say in the beginning I wasn't a fan because of the constant spotting and death cramps. That lasted about a month. I went back to my d ... Show Full Comment

I had my son in January and my doctor recommended I go on Mirena and told me how easy, effective and side-effect-free it was. My OBGYN was the one that put it in at the end of March, and told me repeatedly that it would not effect my milk supply (I am exclusively breastfeeding). A few days after I had it put in, hubby and I had intercourse and I began bleeding. Two months later, I was still consta ... Show Full Comment

I had Mirena inserted about 2 months ago and so far I've been happy with it overall. I have never had a baby and the insertion was quite painful, however my GYN determined during the insertion that I have a retroverted uterus so this might have contributed to the difficulty. That day I had severe cramps and had to stay in bed but they gradually improved over the next few days. For a few weeks ... Show Full Comment
