I was on Yasmin for almost 3 years for PCOS and just recently had to switch to a BCP with a generic, so my Dr. and I chose Cyclessa (because I was worried about weight gain). I haven't taken a full month yet, but since I have started taking it I have become irrational, irritable, unable to sleep well, unable to concentrate, and just unable to cope with normal day to day life. I know everyone is di...

I've been on the generic of cyclessa for over a decade. Had no issues, no mood swings, I initially gained maybe 10 pounds, mostly went to my boobs.

My boobs definitely got bigger. I didnt gain much weight. If anything, I just stopped working out or doing active activities. But I dont blame the pills. Its very effective. I dont get dizzy or feel like throwing up. This bill is pretty good. i've been using it for four years now. I feel like if you gain weight, try working out or use food portion control. cause medications do effect ppl different. Just know how to balance yourself. I am happy with the pills. It also TOOK AWAY my ACNE! WOO!

I started taking this back in January of 09. After 3 failed attempts at other pills, this pill was awesome at first. I dropped a ton of weight and my boobs got huge! Now, 3yrs later, I have no sex drive (my husband always has to initiate), my appetite is up, I'm gaining weight, my boobs have shrunk and I have acne, frequent urination and all these other issues. I don't know what to do...I'm afraid to switch after so long...

I have horrible side effects like, nausea, uncontrollable vomiting, blackouts, hot flashes, stomach pain. But on the bright side I've lost 15 pounds, due to loss of appetite unfortunately. I've had not so good of an experience with this bc pill, although no children!

I have taken Cyclessa for over 6 years. I had no severe weight gain, no cramps, no nausea. My issues with this drug is the crazy mood swings it gave me and the lack of sex drive. This drug completely took any feeling of wanting to have sex whatsoever and I didn't even realize it did until I spoke with my doctor and changed my BC.

I started Cyclessa after I developed spotting after a year on my old oral birth control. The first few weeks were ok, although I continued to have spotting. The 3rd week of the pills I began to have horrible PMS (which I never have), very painful cramps, and migraine headaches. My period lasted more than 8 days. Then the 2nd month my libido went away, I started having really strange dreams, and CRAZY mood swings. Many other reviews I've read have reported similar things. Technically it works as a birth control, but it really was awful on me, mentally speaking.Read More Read Less

This pill works very well except for WEIGHT GAIN. I have always been very active...running for an hour or more per day and lifting weights in addition to eating a very healthy diet. I didn't change my eating/exercise and still packed on 12 pounds within the first month and a half after starting Lutera. I've been exercising like crazy and watching what I eat even more and still can't seem to lose those 12 pounds. It's EXTREMELY frustrating. Periods are also sometimes erratic now. On the plus side, my moods are more stable, I have less acne, and I am not pregnant. This pill didn't affect my sex drive at all but sure did make me fat!Read More Read Less

I have been on this pill for 6 years now. My body adjusted to it right away and the pain and terrible bleeding I suffered from before have disappeared.

i started taking cyclessa about 3 years ago to help with painful cramps/excessive bleeding and it has helped a lot. when i first started taking it it made me really nauseous but now that only happens if i forget to take a pill and take 2 in one day. i am thinking of switching to yasmin though as even though it helps with the pain and bleeding it is still longer than normal and i know yasmin is said to work better for this.

The only reason that I switched to Cyclessa was at the advise of my Dr. because for some reason the pharmacy was always late with refilling my script for Loestrin every month even if I called it in early. Never again.
