I got switched to this birth control. When I started taking it, I would get abnormal heart beats, very nauseated and extremely restless. I stopped taking it for a couple months. I was on microgestin for maybe five years. I switched because I wanted lighter periods. I have been on nortel for a month, the first 3 weeks was fine but when I started the period pills I got horrible head aches which I have never had with or without birth control in my life. I'm 21. I only bled for one day which was nice but the headaches have not gone away and I am not even on the period pills ... Show Full Comment

I don't know that they really affect my mood I just wish the pain in my head would go away.

I broke out in a rash all over my arms and legs a few days after starting this medication. It didn't itch, but there were small raised bumps everywhere. Went to a doctor and was told it was probably the new medication so I stopped taking it and the rash went away.
