Before Microgestin, I was on Lutera. While on that brand, I gained about 15 pounds, experienced awful nausea, and ridiculous mood swings, BUT my face cleared up and was almost never oily. I took a break from birth control for about a year to try to lose some weight. Enter Microgestin. So far my experience has been both positive and negative. When I started taking the pill I was on a higher dose, but when my mother got cervical cancer, my doctor suggested to switch to this one. Overall the pill did what it was ment to do, not let me become pregnant, but unfortunatly I had sevear side effects I am just coming to terms with. Hence the review. I love this birth control! I've been taking it for about a year now and have had absolutely no issues, I gained about 3-5 pounds but besides that its great!

I have taken this medication for a year. It has made me sick with sever nausea, vomitting, cramping and it made my migraines come on more frequent during the month. Im switching to trycycline lo ..

I am 21 and have been on this pill for 3 years now. This past year I have noticed that my moods the week before I get my period are out of control.
