This product was given as a generic substitute to my PreCare Prenatal vitamin. I was prescribed the PreCare due to severe constipation issues with my other prenatal (it includes a stool softener). The Vinate also includes a stool softener, however I found it less effective and had to request an additional (separate) softener from my doctor. Vinate GT is combined with a stool softener, but is over all hard on the digestive system. I found an over the counter prenatal vitamin that offers a gentle combination that is also a little smaller to allow for better swallowing.
