What can I take pain a migraine headache once I am beyond the point of no return? My doctor prescribes me Topamax and Hydrocdone; neither work very well. Help!?!

I've had prescriptions for Lortab, Darvocet and Ultram for back pain. Lortab works great, as Ultram does also, but not Darvocet. Hydrocodone can be addictive though, so use caution when taking it. I haven't really had any adverse effects from it, besides a tingling sensation and a little bit of itching (neither bother me though).

I have taken hydrocodone off and on for many years. I have two degenerated Lumbar discs and one that is herniated. I have also taken this medication post-op for a compound tib/fib fracture of my leg and a crushed ankle. IT IS A VERY ADDICTIVE COMPOUND! So, eventhough it has been very effective for me, you have to know when and when not to take it. Focusing and other homeopathic treatments can work ... Show Full Comment
