This product is effective. Take only one at a time (i took two once and was crying in pain). You should also plan to take it only when you can afford to have some quality bathroom time. You may need a few trips to the bathroom as it works through your system. Don't take it the day that you have something really imortant to do. I took it at 9 p.m. and it worked its way through at about 10 a.m. ...

I had received free samples of Dulcolax laxative tablets and took one two nights ago around 10PM. I woke up in the morning with moderate cramping, and while on my commute was feeling uncomfortable. I had jury duty that morning and as soon as the case began, I started feeling incredibly nauseous and hot, as well as crampy, and hobbled embarrassingly to the bathroom. There I stayed for 30 minutes hu...

This medication has nothing on it showing how to take. If you do not have a stomach. I had stomach cancer. I have no stomach, no medication. Out there shows if you can take without a stomach.

Well i was consitpated. What i did wrong was i took it with food and slow down the process of it working. About 24 hours after it kick in and boy did it work. Cleared out my entire stomach and easy and smooth passage for my stool to pass. Would recommend but take with an empty stomach.

I had an overall good experience with this before my first colonoscopy. Reading all of the horror stories got me on my nerves and worried about the prep process. I am happy to report that it turned out to be a very smooth process. I took 4 tablets as prescribed as part of the prep with PLENTY of water. As soon as I heard/felt any kind of stomach rumbling/churning, I just head for the toilet. I had no nausea, no vomiting, I only had very mild cramping - very tolerable. The things that may have helped me was to prep before the prep: - Have light meals 5 to 7 days before the prep - Have a low fiber diet 5 to 7 days before the prep - Have plenty of fluids in the days leading to the prep day and during prep day - Try to have daily BM (don't strain) 5 to 7 days before prep day - the less you got in there, the less needs to come out - my apologies for the TMI. I hope this helps calms some nerves.Read More Read Less

I’ve taken this medication multiple times, usually just before going to sleep and would wake up about 6hr later with some cramping and need to relieve myself. However, my last experience was awful!! I only take one pill at all times. I’m not sure why this experience was so bad but about 3 hrs after taking the pill I started having nausea, extreme pain (more so than I had experienced before), and acid reflux all at once. The cramps come and go so so just know that they will pass. The nausea was the worst part. Never actually threw up and I ended up taking omeprazole for the acid. I wonder if the cause of the constipation has any bearing on the symptoms from the medication. Usually I just take if for normal constipation but this time it was 3 days post anesthesia which led to constipation. I was already dealing with bloating from egg retrieval so when the pain moved to my lower abdomen I was worried it was my ovaries. 6 hrs later I’m mainly dealing with an upset stomach which may or may not be because of the pill.Read More Read Less

After reading some of these reviews I was terrified to use this because I once had a bad experience with a stimulant laxative at least 25 years ago and have stuck to other more natural methods since then, but my colonoscopy procedure center was insistent that it was the best thing so I decided to take a risk with it. What they recommended was a good idea. They told me not to eat that much that day but take one Dulcolax tablet at 6:00 p.m. to see how I reacted. If I felt OK they recommended taking 2 more the next morning to see how that went. I felt fine so I took 3 more tablets the next morning and it worked but didn't make me feel sick at all. No cramps, nausea, nothing. I was amazed because usually any medication, whether OTC or prescription that is known to cause bad gastro. symptoms would cause them in me. So I do think it depends on the person. Also, I recommend not eating much the day you want to try it out and drink a LOT of fluids, especially electrolyte drinks like Gatorade. Don't drink prune juice or any fiber drinks or that might cause more symptoms. You want to clean yourself out gently, not have a bomb go off inside your gut! Also, I think a lot of people taking this stuff are backed up for many days so there is bound to be some cramping and discomfort in those cases. My advice is start eating a couple of prunes every day and mixing fiber supplements in your coffee because that's the best way to prevent big backups like that and the subsequent bad symptoms from taking laxatives.Read More Read Less

PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS before even thinking about using this product. I bought it because I have been having hard bowel movements for around a week and I wanted something to soften them up. I took 2 (massive mistake) and went to bed at 2am. I woke up at 11am and went downstairs. I started to feel what I can genuinely only describe as the worst pain I've been in in my life. I started to swear profusely, I went pale and couldn't work out if I was going to vomit or pass my bowels. I went so dizzy and genuinely thought I was going to pass out. I had my phone next to me ready to call for help. About an hour after sweating, nausea, shivering I passed a hard stool. Around 30 minutes later I had a loose bowel movement. I have spent the day in sweat, hot and cold and feeling sick. Never ever again would I use this product and it's gone straight in the bin!Read More Read Less

Do you want to know how it feels to die while in childbirth? Edward Scissorhands is squeezing your intestines like he is eating a go-gurt. You will wake up with the worst stomach pains you have ever felt. Personally I started sweating and feeling so hot and nauseas that I had to strip all my clothes off. My mouth was so dry from heavy breathing I was dying for water but couldn’t get it myself. From the time it wakes you up, it averages 2-3 hours of severe cramping before you start to pass anything. Does it work? 100%. Is the pain worth it? Child birth was less painful. Anyone who gives this a good review must be pretty regular. I’m on meds that make me so backed up that all I can ever get out is a pathetic 4-5 deer sized poops. You will be digging into your own butthole trying to finger out any poop you can in order to ease the cramping. Satan himself created this medication for a good laugh because honestly, now that the horror is through - these reviews are hilarious because they are so relatable. 50/50 you will end up with a 5 star or you will regret anything you have eaten in the last week. Make sure you bring in some cold water, a fan, a bucket to puke into while hunched on the toilet and prepare to strip down and enjoy a trip to the depths of hell for a few hours. Read More Read Less

Been using them for constipation, isn’t very effective for myself, also should have better description on packaging for what is the frequent use and how many should be taken for one person, and how long it’ll take for it to have effect, thought no effects have been shown, isn’t helping me with my constipation at all, negative review from me

While these pills did help me go, I don’t feel like it was worth it. I AM IN PAIN! The cramps feel soooo bad. OMG! Whatever you do, do NOT take 3! I am panicking thinking I may need to go to the hospital because of the way these cramps feel until I read other people are having the same experience. I may still go if the pain doesn’t stop soon. HOW IS THIS ALLOWED TO BE SOLD OVER THE COUNTER??? WHY IS NO ONE STOPPING THIS FROM BEING SOLD?

Took two. Made my have painful stomach cramp like menstrual cramps or child birth followed by profuse sweating and overwhelming nausea and exhaustion. Had to get off the road and lay in bed until I had to use the bathroom. After several bathroom trips the discomfort went away. It works but I don't know if it is worth the pain.

I took this around 9:30 pm, around 1am, I started feeling I want to use the bathroom I sat on the toilet and stared getting some excruciating pain, started feeling very hot as well, I tried to get of the toilet to call my husband and collapse on the floor he couldn't even hear , for some reason I couldn't yell.My husband finally heard me, he gave me some water and the water was coming back out, I couldn't swallow. I never took another one, I guess I had a very bad allergic reaction.

I urge anyone to avoid this medicine like the plague! I’ll stick to miralax. I was constipated from my zofran so I decided to take these to help. The box told me 1 to 3. Well I took 3. Big mistake. I was sick for 12 hours. The pain from cramping was so excruciating that I threw up all day. All I could do between puking and pain in lay in bed till it happened again. NEVER AGAIN WILL I TAKE THIS MEDICINE. Im so dehydrated from vomiting and diarrhea.

Had an impaction from medication, and had to have it manually removed. The next day began taking 1 dulcolax a day, and within 2 days was back to normal bm's with zero side effects. You really should start with just one to let your body adjust, and make sure you drink more water than you normally would and it will work. At least it did for me.

OMG I took 2 of these pills after a recent surgery because the pain meds had me backed up. Believe the reviews on here about how horribly they will mess you up!!!! I literally did call 911 and went to the hospital because I didn’t know if I was sick from surgery or had a stomach flu coming on and am in a boot on my foot for fusion of my big toe trying to go back and forth to the toilet pooping, puking, cramping, crying, and profusely sweating so bad I’m almost sliding off the toilet!! All with a foot I’m not supposed to walk on :((( The pills were absolute torture for me. Was even in the hospital getting up to poop and puke but having to wait on an IV to be removed trying not to crap myself. Was probably the worst sickness I’ve ever been through!!! Stuff should be banned.Read More Read Less

I have Crohn’s disease and often need to take laxative to help my bowel movements. If I take one of these pills, nothing happens. When I take two or more, I am in excruciating pain. And as someone with crohn’s, I am use to horrible stomach pain and nausea. But this pill seriously has caused sone of my post painful experiences. It takes long to work, and randomly you’ll feel your bowel cramp. Often in the hours leading up to the release, I’ll feel very nauseous and sick. When I feel that I need to use the restroom, the cramping is so intense I feel like I’m dying. Not to be dramatic, that’s genuinely how bad it is. I have almost passed out from the pain. It’s not normal cramping and has a very distinctive pain. The nausea I feel when having these cramps is so intense that even my prescription nausea meds, that are the most effective available, do not work. I get chills, feel dizzy, and cannot sit up straight. I am usually scared that I will need to call someone for help because I feel that I’m about to go unconscious. I would not recommend this. Out of every horror story I’ve been through, my last experience with this laxative is literally like second on my list of most painful things I’ve ever been through. Try Miralax, milk of magnesia. If you don’t think those work well enough for you, it doesn’t matter. Nothing is worth this. Read More Read Less

Took one at 8pm. It had a similar effect as the preparation medication for a colonoscopy. Dreadful. Stay very near a bathroom. Should not be sold over the counter. I cannot imagine giving it to a child. Be very cautious.
