Please be ware of this dangerous toxtic drug. my mom passes in a matter of 2 weeks, Dec. 18th 2012 from amiodarone toxtic/ Lung fibrosis. my mom had been coughing for a month and then her breathing became worse. she went from a high flow to an oxgyen mask to a vent. everything happened so fast. she was on 200mg. you need to pay close attention to all signs and have a regular chest xray and blood w

effective med. no afib attempts to reduce the drug and afib would resume. i did finally arrive at an optimal dose regimin. after 10 years plus I now have severe peripheral neuropathy. Is this better than recurrent afib. newer surgical attempts might be better

Was on 100 mg of amiodarone for 1 year after cardiac surgery to repair valve and aortic aneurysm. Dr. recently took me off since he thinks my AF was due to the surgery and I should be OK now. Dr. says the effects of the drug should be out of my system in a month but I'm reading now that it can take months. I have been on this medication for 5+ years an am 42 years old. I had a valve replacement over a year ago. I started having a hard time breathing 6 months ago and went in and found out I had bleeding on the outside of the lung. I had surgery in June of this year and it was awful.
