I rarely have yeast infections, and used to (like many women) confuse bacterial vaginosis with yeast infections. If you have a bacterial infection, you will experience SO much pain using Monistat. I made that mistake before and will never again. This time around I bought the vagisil tester kit to determine if it was yeast or bacterial. This time it was yeast and the Monistat didn't burn at all. I ...

I've used Monistat 7 for years and it worked great. When I got a yeast infection recently, after 15 years of not having one, I tried Monistat 3. It burned terribly and didn't cure my infection. A week later, I tried Monistat 7 and it burned so bad I was crying. I then spent 6 frustrating months trying various cures prescribed by my doctor and from what I read on the internet. I even tried Mon...

So I’m currently pregnant and this is my first time ever experiencing a YI & after reading the reviews I was honestly very scared to even do it I was trying to look at everything else to avoid it. My husband purchased Monistat 3 for me even though I asked for 7 day I’m not complaining I was just even more scared because I heard it is even stronger than the 7 an it felt like lava down there an the itching was unbearable. HOWEVER in my own experience with it I have no burning , no itching at all anymore , it’s not sore it’s not swollen , it’s not uncomfortable when I move a certain way it has relieved my itch so far decently I am currently on day 2 as I write this I just put it in after my shower I am using the Monistat 3 inserts NOT the cream. I’m hoping it does cure it so far it’s feeling alright I don’t even notice it is there. I have no idea why these reviews are so bad so I would say you never know until you try it I guess but ya that’s my opinion and my experience while currently using this medicine. I hope it works for whoever is buying it as well. Good luck everyone Read More Read Less

First day I tried it I had some burning that I wouldn't call "mild" like the box says. It was uncomfortable but not unbearable like a lot of the other reviews said. It went away after an hour or so. I think the problem was I didn't push it up far enough and didn't lay down immediately after. I put the plunger in place before i inserted it all the way and accidentally pushed some of the cream out and got it on my labia, which I think was the problem. It helped my symptoms almost immediately. 2nd day I made sure to insert the tube as far as it could go and *then* inserted the plunger and laid down on my stomach. There was almost no burning that way. I am giving it a 5 star review to help even out the other reviewsRead More Read Less

My eyes were burning from trying to read the very small print of the instructions. The print size could be doubled and the increased amount of paper would still fit in the box.

One tube was completely empty. It was sealed in the bag and had no cream in it. Poor quality control. Need to buy another whole package. Very poor!

I experienced my first vaginal yeast infection. I’m 22 yrs old. I hurried up and got Monistat 3 with little research. I was so scared! The first injection was… okay. I felt a little itch and sting just like the instructions said. It went away and I was GREAT for the rest of the day. Second day?? Not so great. I was good for about an hour, after that… IT ITCHED SOOOOO BAAAADDD!! I sat on the toilet and yeah.. didn’t know what to do. BUT!! I put some of the cream on the exterior and it all went away. I was able to go on feeling great for the rest of the day! Third day was the same as the second day! Burn and itching after putting it in, I didn’t have any extra cream so I put some hydrocortisone and I was able to get through the day! 3/25 was my last day taking the monistat 3 and I feel fine so far! So with my experience, I’d say to avoid the burn and itch, definitely have some anti itch cream on the side to get you through the day, it’ll take the edge off! Read More Read Less

Had a yeast infection when I was pregnant about 2 years ago. Docs had me use monistat, went perfectly fine, slept like a baby when I used it the first time. Recently, I recognized the symptoms so I got another box. Dear god, my c section was easier than this shit. They must have changed the medication as other reviews have mentioned because wtf. Sat on the toilet moaning in pain, had I not been so dehydrated I would’ve been crying. This is the 7 day one and only used it 3 days and the first two days I had to shower it off after 30 or so minutes because it was unbearable. 1st day I didn’t take a pain reliever, 2nd day I took one 500mg acetaminophen, and the third day I took two. The third day I got through it. But now I’m super dried out and breaking out down there. I’m done, not going to finish the last 4 days. Ladies if you do try this, and you experience the severe burns, when you shower try to lift your pelvis up toward the water. That’s how I got the most relief. Read More Read Less

I’m not sure how to review M1 because my experience has been mixed. There have been times it works with no side effects and then there have been times it causes extreme burning and itching. I dint know if it’s me or an inconsistent product. When it works, it’s amazing. When it has side effects, they are excruciating

i truly believe those of you who said this burned just had BV and not a yeast infection because i felt relief IMMEDIATELY. i slept like a baby for the first time in days, no burning, no itching, a lot of leakage but whatever at least i wasn't waking up trying to scratch!!! this stuff works IF you really have a YI

Ok, first off ya’ll been scratching’ that thing so naturally it’s on a burn when you apply medicine. Right? On my mild case after use I had a case of the fire ants for about 30-45 min. After that it’s smooth sailing. Slept great, and woke up cured. Depends on your body I suppose. Thumbs up over here cause I ain’t itchin’. You can do it!

The negative reviews are way over the top and very dramatic. Any monostat does its job, even if it burns or cause itching. That means it’s doing what it is suppose to do and you have to give it time to work. I am doing just fine with it and totally understand that it we’ll be some weird feelings after starting the treatment but eventually it’ll go away and so will the infection. It’s not that serious. The stuff works.

I used monistat 1 in the past and everything was fine. I tried the 3 day medicine instead this time and I regret it. It burned bad for all 3 days and increased itching terribly. I completed the medication and the burning mostly went away and I am still itching. I will probably contact my doctor about over the counter medication before I use monistat again.

I was super scared to try this out because of the reviews but I said f it and tried it anyway.. It honestly felt like I used a boric acid suppository. No pain, no burning, I used the cream for itching which I had prior to using this. I give this a 5/5 I would say use old panties you don’t care about because of the leakage.

BIG MISTAKE. about 5 minutes after inserting the medication into my vag, i felt EXTREME burning and itching. i sat on the toilet for about 30 minutes trying to get it out of me. i was sweating and nauseous because of the discomfort i was feeling. do not buy this!!!

Burnt my kitty to shreds. Took it at work and immediately regretted it. Most painful experience of my life. Sat on the toilet for an hour begging God for help. Thought I was going to have to go to the ER. The feeling of a fiery torch shoved up my insides took my mind off the itching though! Good luck ladies

It worked. First time having one. I'm over 50 and just finished a round of antibiotics which caused it. Burning, itching, ugh! Went to Dr. Office and they were too busy to see me. After asking a friend, she said try 3 day Monistat with the extra cream tube. I recommend reading all the two page directions insert in the box. I learned great information about the entire yeast infection process. What, how, when, why etc... Followed it and it works. The external cream I did right away during day and in an hour or so, that itching was gone. The night time application was easy. Yes it does burn and get warmer inside, but that means it is working. Not the best sleep but I woke up with most of my symptoms gone. 2nd night, a little burn, 3rd night almost nothing. I am going to apply the external cream for an day or so, just for protection. Make sure you take a strong probiotic daily for a month. Drink lots of water daily. Rest from stressful activity. Stay away from sugar.Read More Read Less

I’ve used the 7 day treatment in the past with no issues. This is the first time I’ve used the 3 day treatment. It has caused severe burning and itching. I’ll never use the 3 day again!
