I'm reviewing this after having been on it for almost a year. I switched to this pill after Yaz made me very moody and anxious (only bad effect I got, but it's a big one). Yaz made me lose 10 pounds because of the diuretic in it, and I gained those back immediately on this pill (but I don't think I gained anything additional). My mood has seemed normal on this pill, periods are painless, and ... Show Full Comment

I switched to mictrogestin because my other birth control wasn't strong enough. For the first 3 months everything seemed okay, my period was really light the first month and by the second I was spotting a little, then the 3rd I didn't have a period. My boobs did go up a cup size and my nails are shiny and stronger. But now it's seems to be going downhill. I get bloated a lot and I've lost control ... Show Full Comment

I've been on and off the pill for 15 years and just recently started microgestin 9 months ago. The side effects to this pill are pretty bad and I didn't connect them until reading other reviews. PROS 1. I'm not pregnant, so I'd have to at least say its effective. CONS 1. Break through bleeding/early periods: I take the pill every morning, at the same time (give or take 5 minutes), and sti ... Show Full Comment

I started using this BC right after a menstrual cycle to regulate my periods after miscarrying 3 months prior. Within 2 weeks I started bleeding for 6 days straight then it switched to I'll stop bleeding at night but around the sametime everyday I started right back bleeding it would not stop. After 18 days straight of bleeding I stopped taking it and never will again. I also felt depressed and go ... Show Full Comment

The first time i used this bcp it was the typical side effects, weight gain, moody etc. This bcp however reversed everything. I went from light periods to heavy periods. I have a very clear completion but immediately after i start it (ive been on & off the past 3 years) my face breaks out. It stays pimply until i stop. However no more bloating or mood swings. Just those nasty pimples.
