As a RA patient, my doctor and I looked at many scrips for this disease, didn't like the chance of all the side effects of some, this seemed easy to use with the least amount of side effects. After taking the meds for 3 years, my doctor pronounced me : In Remission : and told me to come back in 6 months. All I heard was the words, In Remission, and then quit taking the meds that day. I went alo...

Just started today. Hope it works! I read some of the previous comments. Scarey!!!! Hope I don't experience their side effects, especially the hair loss.

I'm hyper sensitive to medication, so I broke the 200mg in half. First dose about an hour ago. Twenty minutes later, everything past 3 ft is completely blurred. Can't drive to work this morning. Waiting on a call back from prescribing Dr. Nothing mentioned this could be a side effect, but everything I'm reading says this is a possibility after extended use. This is terrifying

Had covid twice, 1st time was the Delta variant. I was back to normal twice as fast than my family members who didn't take it. Caught covid a week and a half ago, back on the pills. A few rough days but a lot better after a week.

Prescribed Quinoric for a scalp condition - it takes 6 weeks to get into the system. At the 6 week point my bowel and digestive system ceased to function, went down to under 6 stone (lost 2 stone in 10 days). Could not produce saliva or tears, covered in rashes and sores, holes in gums. Liver showed signs of damage. Suffered psychosis. This damage from this terrible drug has been life changing.

I have been prescribed hydroxychloroquine for an autoimmune scalp condition, no results yet but only 3 months. I wanted to ask if anybody had worse side effects depending on the brand. I was unable to take Quinoric due to vomiting, but ok with Zentiva. I have now been prescribed Accord and wondered how it’s tolerated for others Thank you.

I have Sjögren’s syndrome. At first I didn’t take it when prescribed as I read about all the side affects. The doctor spent time having a long chat with me and was very informative helping me understand the pros and cons. I started taking it and being impatient thought it wasn’t having an effect. I carried on and pain became less. Two weeks ago I decided to stop taking it(I’ve been in it about 2 years) and then BAM I could barely walk with pain in my ankle and foot joints. Pain in elbows hands etc. hence I am back on it. I hate taking tablets With a passion but don’t think that I can now cope Without it Read More Read Less

Started taking this medication in November 2022 and by December 2022 I was having severe muscle strain/pain. What started out as a doctors hope of helping my inflammation turned in to a nightmare for me and my body. I ended up in ER 2 times with severe muscle strain and muscle pain everywhere. Told ER I was going to discontinue the medication because it was making things worse. Was told by ER they have heard horror stories over Hydroxychloroquine and I had to do what felt right for me. First question I asked was will stopping this med cause more problems. Was told that according to the medication it should not but be aware of issues and contact doctor if problems persist. Please look at other options because this brought on way to many side effects. I can live with my pain but I surely do not wish to add all the complications this medication brought on. Took hydroxychloroquine along with prednisolone for around 5 months for scleroderma. Wow, this medication tastes disgusting whatever it is taken with! The drug combination did mostly resolve the rash on my legs and the thick yellow crust of skin on my palms and heels that had deep cracks in. The downside was the constant vomiting, resulting in me losing 1/5 of my body weight in around 4 months and I also started to experience joint pain. I became quite weak and started to become disorientated with some visual disturbance. I seemed better able to tolerate 1x 200 tablet than the recommended 2x200 tablets and also on the one occasion the pharmacy couldn't get the generic brand and had to order a different brand I vomited less. However, they normally dispense the cheaper brand and the hospital said I needed to be taking 2x 200 tablets. My GP said I shouldn't take it anymore due to the problems with my eyesight and the rapid weight loss (I was getting quite underweight). Fortunately the skin issues haven't returned since stopping the medication over a year ago, but I still have muscle pain and weakness in my arms and some joint stiffness in my hands.Read More Read Less

This medicine has been a nightmare for me. Before this medicine, I was full of life despite my debilitating RA joint stiffness I was coping. I noticed when I started I’ve experienced horrible migraines, I’m talking like everyday was a fight just to keep my eyes open. I had extreme light sensitivity to the point that I can barely stand to even look at the tv, my phone, sunlight, or any light at all. All I could do was sleep it off and even that became annoying cause who wants to sleep all day then wake up to crucial headaches. I’ve tried lowering the dosage, stopping then starting again and the outcome still remained the same. This medicine makes you lose your appetite, upset your stomach, and the worse part is the terrible migraines followed by dizziness. Read More Read Less

Was prescribed for severe upper back pain. Been taking for right at 3 months. Absolutely no relief. However I do now have constant aches in my finger joints and toes that was not there before. Also developing ganglion cysts in my thumbs. Do not know if there is a connection. Also. Sciatic aches are back in my hips. Don't know if it possible that this is making all of my aches multiply and worse but have decided it's not worth it. Also already have blurry vision in last few years so that's a constant in my head that it feels to be getting worse as well which does nothing but cause anxiety.Read More Read Less

This medicine has completely recovered my pains, swellings and rashes. I'm back to normal after using this med, before that I was undergoing 6+ years treatment for RV with several medications (10-12 per day) whereas now I need to take only one tab per day. Talking about the side-effects, i felt some amount of dizziness but that is fine for me. But the change in skin colour is what I was worried about on saying so, my respective doctor has reduced the dosage. Need to keep check on ourselves so that we could take necessary precautions immediately when needed.Read More Read Less

I took this for extremely dry eye and mouth and whole body pain. Only two weeks in and it feels like someone’s beating me with a hammer! This pain is excruciating and the headaches are all day every day! I’m trying to hang I. There for a while but I’m not sure how much more I can stand!

Have been taking 200mg/day for almost 20 years. It took about 3 months to feel the benefit of the medication: reduced inflammation and joint pain, eliminated rashes, reduced fever significantly, overall improved quality of live and no impact on vision so far (vision tested annually).
