This medication has been an absolute lifesaver. I was wounded in the head by shrapnel and suffer from tension headaches that are absolutely horrific. It hurts to open my eyes and lasts for 8 hours. This medication has been an absolute lifesaver. I was wounded in the head by shrapnel and suffer from tension headaches that are absolutely horrific. It hurts to open my eyes and lasts for 8 hours. I've tried all NSAIDs and nothing helped until my physician prescribed Ascomp W/Codeine. This changed everything! Although I still get these horrendous skull-crushing headaches (not as often anymore) Azcomp/W Codeine knocks them out under 30 minutes. Sometimes it only brings relief for 8 hours but it's enough to get me to be mobile and feel pain free. It is hands-down the only thing that helps with my headaches and the only side-effect I get is slight nausea but that goes away if I take it with food or take ginger candy. I highly recommend for fellow tension/migraine suffers. Read More Read Less

Been using it for migraines, very successful. I am sensitive to many medicines, but hardly side effects with this one. If I wait too long to take a pill for a migraine, I vomit. Other than that, most of the time I am able to be productive at work without the pain and other effects of a migraine!

I use this medication for migraine headaches and it usually works well. I don't take it often as I usually have these headaches only 3 or 4 times per month. I sometimes have to take 2 doses to get rid of a severe migraine and it works best if I also lie down in a quiet, darkened room (or cover my eyes with a damp cloth) and place ice packs on my forehead and neck.

I am a woman of 52 years of age. I have suffered with intractable migraine disease since childhood. I have taken ascomp with codeine since it gives me relief from suffering with a migraine that has lasted at times for 3 to 5 days in bed in darkness. Migraine if ever truly experienced can ruin everyday life. I do and I stress do not take other pain medications as any migraine sufferer knows you can rebound and then you are in a never ending cycle of horrific pain...

Be careful as Ascomp w/codeine is stong and physically addicting. Also beware that many pharmacies confuse this med with it's non-narc counterpart, Fioricet. If you are a first timer - do a pill identifier (just google it) and make certain your pill is correct. This "error" occured with my last dose - although assured by the gum-smacking, 14-year pharmacy tech it was one in the same. I am a 53-year old chronic, migraine sufferer with at least two to three episodes weekly (on average) lasting from two hours to 10 hours. I advise taking one pill asap when the headache starts. After it is in "full bloom" - this med is nearly useless. In fact, over-the-counter Advil is more effective but not as long lasting.Read More Read Less

I get migraines 2-3 times a month, and these have helped me more than ANY over-the-counter medication! I would strongly recommend this medication to anyone who has been suffering from migraines. Also, I didn't notice any nausea when I used.
