I have been taking zocor for a few years now and just in the last two years I've started to have deep bone pain in legs and arms.

I was put on Zocor and immediately knew something was wrong. Within 24 hours, I noticed my thought process was cloudy. Although, I wasn't sure what med was causing it as I was placed on Zocor, a bloood thinner and BP meds at the same time. Six months later, after fighting the cognitive issues, I developed pain in my feeet and ankles that progressed up my legs about 4 to 6 inches per day. On the ... Show Full Comment

I have been taking the medication for over 5 years (10 mg), and it has done a great job in improving my blood lipid profile. I have not had any side effects from the drug, but I am concerned about potential long term complications since not much is known about long term use of statins. Comment:
I was prescribed Zocor/simvastatin on 4 occassions. Each time, I had a severe adverse drug reaction including: hypertension, hyperglycemia, tachycardia, dizziness, aggitation. Finally, my cardiologist notated my health records that I was unable to take statins.
