I've been using Nuvaring for 8 years now and have had no other side effects than going from a C cup to a D cup, but no weight gain anywhere else! It's very effective and no mood swings. And my sex drive is still very much in tact- never been affected. Much lighter periods are a plus (3 days or less), no more pain with periods at all and not having to worry whether I took the pill at the right time...

Well yes, nuvaring will keep your from getting pregnant. It will also make you an emotional basketcase to the point that a guy who claims he loves you "can't handle it" and runs off with an emotionally unavailable slut. Works wonders in preventing babies though.

I do like how easy it is and the concept. I will say it has cause me to break out a bit and a decrease in sex drive. I can still get there, but i'm never really in the mood. I'm also more moody and judgey lately. I haven't seen any weight gain. It's nice in that my partner doesn't feel it when we are intimate. Overall, it's effective but eh

I’ve been on the Nuvaring for about 3 years and I loved it. I never have a period and if I did it was just a little spotting but now for about a year or so I noticed my period would come on and be really heavy and I had clots and leg cramps. Ofc go to the ER they don’t find anything. Now it’s happening again so I removed it. I’ve been bleeding for a month straight and the numbness in my legs are back, also terrible cramps on the left side of my stomach

I have stage 4 Endometriosis, and I’ve been using the NuvaRing since 2017. I have no sex drive whatsoever. I get migraines every couple of months, I have gained weight because I no longer gave te energy to workout. I went from a C cup to a D , and then I was diagnosed with anxiety. I’ve experienced mood swings too. I try to take breaks from using it just to return to normalcy for a few months. I need it for the endometriosis, but I miss my old body.

Gained a lot of weight, over 20 kg, diarrhea every day, night sweats, started losing hair, eyebrows, etc. Finally, blood values ??also became bad, iron deficiency, etc. And it all stopped as soon as I stopped using Nuvaring. Visited several doctors, but no one could find the cause of my problems. So that it can work from the start but can produce very large side effects after longer use

I tried NuvaRing after my doctor recommended trying it. It was easy to use but the night after I inserted it I was throwing up so bad. Then for the following few weeks that I tried it I felt so nauseous, and my skin had become really bad. I also had felt really depressed and even more anxious while using it. I wanted to give NuvaRing a fair try but after a month I couldn’t take the side effects and constant nausea anymore.

I have been using EluRyng for 3 days, and I remember why I stopped using all hormonal birth control 2 decades ago. I feel very impatient, rage-y, and nauseated. (No, not pregnant. You have to have sex in order to be pregnant.) I'm so physically tired, I don't want to exercise. I'm on Effexor & Adderall, also, which are both stimulant medications, yet I'm suddenly sad and have no energy. I want my energy & my smile back.

Pros: super easy to use. If you want to skip your period then it’s super easy to do so. My partner can’t feel it. I’m not pregnant Cons: if someone asks me how I’m doing I’ll cry (even if I’m doing good). My breast are tender. HUGE mood swings. Cry a lot (I’m not a person that cries). Big burst of anger. My vagina hurt a lot. Moments of feeling numb and a little depressed Another pro: best sleep lately I’ve gotten because I cry way too much. If you are curious about it I would still try it. It wouldn’t hurt you to Try it out. I did it because a doctor thought it should be good for me to try. And she said to try it for 2 months. I did the first month. And I barely got through the second week. I’m glad I did try it because now I know that my body doesn’t do well with hormones. Even at such a low dosage. Read More Read Less

Seemed nice to put in my vagina but it has no effect. After one month of use, I got pregnant with my husbands gladiator sperm.

I can say Nuvaring has always worked fine for me, the only negative aspect is that in the 3 rings pack, they started selling not one, but three applicators made of plastics. I personally don’t use any applicator and I find it a great waste of material.

I had been on ortho-tri cyclen daily pill for about 5 years prior to using the ring.I had no issues w the pill but started traveling a lot for work and would forget to pack pill and didn't want to risk a pregnancy. Since I have never have given birth I didn't want an IUD so I chose the nuvaring. It has been great so far (3months) zero side affects and easy insertion/removal. Husband can't feel it in there so no problem on his end. Period is so light I barely bleed and only for 2 or 3 days. Wish I would have tried this sooner!! Also, not pregnant!Read More Read Less

I've been on every birth control now except for the copper IUD, the Depo shot, Patch, and Arm implant. I have been using the Neuva ring for about a year and a half now and although it's not the worst, it certainly isn't the best for me and I'm looking into something else. Here's my experience as a almost 33 year old, active female with endometriosis, never had kids. My boobs went for a D to a DDD, I gained about 10 lbs mostly in my thighs, ass and boobs. My skin has gotten EXTREMELY oily and I can't hardly get makeup to stay on my face anymore, I have acid reflux where I never had that before and it makes it difficult to workout but that was worse the first few months and has somewhat mellowed out. Every single time I bend over for any reason I have a creamy discharge that just comes out which I never had that before either. It's painful for my partner and I during sex as it gets pushed up there really far and sometimes comes out too. My sex drive has completely depleted as in I NEVER want to have sex and that is not like me at all, I normally have a much higher sex drive than any man I've been with. And lastly it's just kinda painful putting it in and taking it out. Besides all those side effects my mood is very stable, I don't bleed, after gaining the 10 lbs that's about all I gained, however it's 10 lbs too much for me so I feel insecure about that. I will be switching BC's here soon but this has been my personal experience with it and everyone is different. Read More Read Less

I use to be afraid of BC b/c of all the negative side affects. But once I gave it a shot, it was the best thing I could do. I forget I’m on birth control, no hormone changes, shorter periods, little to no cramps. A really underrated birth control, always recommend it to everyone!

BEWARE!! The nuvaring may give you abnormal paps!! I got abnormal readings the whole time I used the ring and perfectly fine paps while not using it. I even need additional testing which was very traumatic for no reason other than this stupid ring. Think about it... The ring is right up against your cervix causing not only friction but a huge surge in hormones right into the tissue. I bet you these were the reasons for my abnormal paps. The drug companies will not inform users of this side effect, of course.Read More Read Less

Warning: yeast infections might develop one when you start this medication. I know this is a common side effect with birth control but I never had a problem with it on the pill. Other than that I have been pleased with this medication. No crazy side effects that I can think of but I will say that my acne has not gotten better in this medication. My face was so clear in the pill but not the ring so far. The ring itself is very convenient and easy to take in and out and extremely low maintenance. Read More Read Less

I started the Nuvaring before going to college and was on it about 6 years before deciding to have my son. After breastfeeding, went back on the Nuvaring again with no issues. One thing I did notice was that during one of my refills, I was provided with a generic ring (yellow with white packaging) and it was the worst 30 days I've ever experienced. The name brand Nuvaring (blue with silver packaging) has been great to me over the last 10+ years and my only suggestion is that if you aren't on the name brand is to have your OB notate your chart. The name brand Nuvaring costs about $600/ three month supply so the generic is being given to patients and they are just told that it's "the ring".Read More Read Less

Been on the Nuva Ring for going on 2.5 years now I think. I take it continuously due to endometriosis. Only get 3 periods a year and they are light with minimal cramping. Super easy to insert and remove. Very mild symptoms other than sore boobs and mood swings during last few days of cycle. Tried the pill, patch and 3 IUDs. Hated it all until this.

NuvaRing made me literally unable to recognize myself. It gave me intense mood swings, my libido was non-existent, and it made me question everything I thought I knew about myself because I legitimately did not feel like the same person. I thought it was just new life situations (graduating, moving, living with S/O) but after having an IUD for a year now I can confidently say that the NuvaRing really just did me dirty. I am back to normal and feeling better than ever. If you are able, I 10000% recommend an IUD over NuvaRing.Read More Read Less

First time I tried this I got all kinds of side effects, decided to go off it and discovered I had a hormone imbalance that didn't mix well with the addition of Nuvaring. I took a couple of months to fix my hormones and then went back on this for a second time because I really wanted this to work for me, it did! Zero side effects aside from when my fiance pointed out he thought my boobs grew (Not a bad side effect by any means ??) I'm sensitive to hormone methods and the pill scared me into never wanting to go back on hormone methods but due to PMDD it was a necessity to help improve my quality of life which it has dramatically! Wish I could give it more stars!Read More Read Less
